I played both Assassin's Creed and Watchdogs on my PS4 first and imported saves via Ubisoft Connect. Still had no option to upgrade either when I checked this morning though.

For what it's worth, both of mine are Ultimate Editions - maybe a different edition worked for your friend?

Edit, also tried importing saves from the PS4 cloud, but still no upgrade option for either

6 days and Ubisoft can't tell us at least they know about and that they are trying to fix it?
I spent £450 for PS5 and £100 on WD Legion & Valhalla for nothing??? 😡😡😡

That twitter reply has really made me angry 😡 I have both watchdogs and Vahalla installed on PS4 but why would that make a difference when the Turkish fix works!

Tried everything under the sun to get Watchdogs Legion PS5 Version to install - very disappointing.

I've tried all the steps listed by Ubisoft to fix this and am still unable to upgrade my PS4 disc copy.

I refuse to make a new turkish PSN account as that seems pointless.

Can a support member please give us an update on getting this fixed as it's getting ridiculous.

Am sorely tempted to try that fix now and just create a Turkish account, I'd held off so far since I'd rather it was just properly fixed for our store fronts.
It's really frustrating as I had to go something very similar to get my season pass content for Watchdogs just a few weeks ago - you'd think they would have learnt from that then...

If I try to do this, can I delete my new Turkish account once installed and also will updates install as they should if I do it this way? Any advice from you guys appreciated!

I've heard that you need to keep it active, but haven't verified this myself.
Am hesitant to try it in case it messes up my season pass DLC or other associated entitlements on my main account

What I will say is that the Turkish account fix does work... Takes 5 minutes and just leave the account open on your ps5 while your playing watchdogs and / or valhalla until your done with them. Trophies and previous saves work as normal. Know its not ideal but least its an option...

There was nothing on either the game case or PS and Ubi’s support pages about installing it on a PS4 first. I sold my PS4 months ago to be able to afford a PS5. I bought the PS4 disc so I can lend it to a family member with a PS4 once I’m finished. How is this a fair way to treat customers?

Anyway, I created a Turkish account last night and managed to download the free PS5 upgrade. It is significantly better - it looks amazing, feels smooth and the adaptive triggers and haptics are awesome. I wish I was playing this from the start.

My save data transferred over (I had to manually upload a save file to Ubi from PS4 game file and then manually download that file into PS5 game file).

Annoyingly my trophies did not copy over (this seems to be a bug others have mentioned) so now it will be impossible to get the platinum, as some trophies (like for finishing story chapters and for making all areas defiant) have been achieved on PS4 game file and are only possible for my to achieve on PS5 copy if I was to restart the entire game. Really rubbish.
