Seriously Massive, nobody cares about the raid enough to keep them locked at this point. And you keep adding new sets to the game anyway. What is the purpose being served by keeping them locked at this point? Whatever value they had in incentivizing people to do the raid is long past, and more than covered by the two exotics anyway.
I know it's lazy and easy to do nothing and claim it adds to the raid. But just stop already. Take the 15 minutes to adjust the loot tables and make the entire playerbase happy instead of just raiders who already have it and aren't running the raid anymore anyway.
It's time, in fact well past time that the loot gated in the DZ was released into the main loot pool. It did it's job, it tried to get players into the DZ and failed, just like it did in Div1. Gating loot like this in an activity unpopular with the majority of players just builds resentment and dissatisfaction with the game.
Honestly, I think that this will neither safe nor destroy the game. You did always find and will always find people who are against or for tying specific loot to specific activities. But personally I think we are way past the point, where such decisions might have mattered.
We are facing an update that will make skill builds not even more powerful but also more easy to obtain and create. Legendary missions will soon be a joke and their "best loot" will not be desirable anymore, as everyone will be able to max out crap loot from any difficulty to god rolls in no time. So... yes... why not let anyone also have the FB and FI vests and backpacks? And the System Corruption Gear Set plus all the other DZ-exclusive named items. The game is approaching the end of its lifecycle so those few items will not make a difference anymore.
My two cents is that raid exclusives ought to be cool items, but not items which are absolutely vital for common builds.
If you're a medic it's not possible to run Future Init with BTSU without doing the raid, and this particular raid was a big ask for people.
You have Ravenous & Regulus as exclusives, so it's still incentivised. There's a fun exclusive shiny to strive for.
What is cool with these, is that they make specifically the raid easier. It'd be good if raid-exclusives were predominantly useful to the raid itself (e.g. Ravenous).
I don't understand what is gained by locking the gear sets, as you're basically a 2nd rate medic until you've done the raid, which is a great shame.
(I've done the raid, but I fully sympathise those who don't want to, but want to do say Legendaries as a medic)
I agree, too soon. Raid was released on June 30th, and I would expect 6 months post release date the vest/bag for FB and FI should be released in to the general loot pool. So in January it needs to happen.Originally Posted by Sgt.Danielle Go to original post
The guns still need to be locked up though.![]()
What is a "common build"? Wouldn't the build you suggest be an "uncommon build", as it requires an item from the raid?Originally Posted by ChilliPips Go to original post
No one needs anything from the raid.
