Hello. Thank you for all your hard work, especially in these difficult times.
I recently started playing with assault rifles and I dare say it is fun! haha. But unfortunately it wasn't all rainbow land experience. It was hard not to notice punishing inferiority of assault rifles compared to rifles. Before I dive in deeper please check these screenshots.
When I used rifles, I only used 3 - 5 clips for clearing a control point. I had plenty of ammo left to fight against upcoming waves of enemies. So imagine my surprise when I used assault rifles in same control point, with only slightly different but better optimized build.
After clearing the place I had to run around immediately or run as fast as I can towards the ammo crate to re-supply myself. In fact, this is the case for all control points. Now, I am fully aware that faster rate of fire exhausts bullets faster as well but the difference between two weapon types was just punishing. Think about the gap; Fully stocked assault rifles have about 972 bullets, thus you have about 19-20 clips, Rifles have about 36 clips! 36! I find this to be so unbalanced.
I can't say anything certain about damage. Personally, I think other weapons like assault rifles, specifically, should have one more slight damage buff in upcoming update. What I can say without an ounce of doubt, however, is that assault rifles need more total ammo. I mean rifles get to have about 16-17 more clips. This is so unfair. So please, please do consider doing something about this at your earliest convenience.
Please and thank you.
*p.s. I first posted this on "Suggestions & Feedback" section but "General Discussion" seemed more alive and being looked at, so I posted the same content on here as well. Sorry.*
How many clips you have depends on the gun your using.
420 rifles rounds in a mk17 is 22 mags. In a sig its about 17 mags. In an m1a its 42!
Same deal with assault rifles in an ak it may only be 20 mags burning a g36 or p416 its nearer 35.
Numbers vary based on mods and rolls obviously.
But ammo is so plentiful in this game its impossible to run out unless your either running directives or cant hit the side of a barn from 10m away.
Thanks for your support. And 25%, in my case that would be about (97*2)+48= 242 more bullets. That would be nice.Originally Posted by mckrackin5324 Go to original post![]()
Not true for all builds. If you have 270K health and 600K armor, you can't be running around grabbing ammo off the ground without getting one tapped.Originally Posted by CalvyB Go to original post
Funny thing is, they're going to force skill builds to use their guns in TU12 so ammo will be a huge problem soon.
When running missions it would be as you stated. When running control points, it is not like that at all. You really exhaust your bullets. If you don't re-supply yourself, your bullets might not even last to third wave, which is trying to take back the control pointOriginally Posted by CalvyB Go to original post. And as I've mentioned, I am aware of the fact that guns with fast rate of fire spend bullets faster too. But this end-result is so different. See up there, I compared it. Those two sets of screenshots are all done by me, same person; hence shot the similar amount, missed the similar amount, and experience with assault rifle was always dire compared to rifle.
No no no, not run out of bullets completely. Yea, my secondary weapon for my assault rifle build is just rifle so since not a single bullet is used on that one, sure, I have plenty of bullets left. I'm talking about assault rifle as primary and primary weapons alone. You know, like my title? Wait, am I being trolled?Originally Posted by N3mB0t Go to original post
I'm saying primary weapon wise, between using rifle and assault rifle, the latter always ends up desperately looking for bullets after clearing a control point. Which is totally not needed for rifle build, giving you safer time to get to your favorite defensive position. I believe this difference is unfair and wanted to bring this to attention, even if someone already did.
