    The Ultimate Division Mouse

Ok so I decided to make this post for 2 reasons.

First, since I got this mouse, I started enjoying Div1 and Div2 again, so I figured I'd share it with others.
Second, I realize most people are not like me and don't enjoy tinkering and theory-crafting, so I figured I would share the setup I personally found to be most enjoyable.

    First of all, the mouse:
(And yes you guessed right, the tilt feature also makes it the ultimate mouse for R6S.)

I think I am like most other people, I hate gimmicky stuff that only seems awesome but doesn't really improve your experience in any way, so you can be sure the setup I use is to make my gameplay EASIER and thus more fluid and enjoyable. Obviously everyone has different preferences but if you don't feel like testing around or are looking for inspiration from something that works for someone, down below it is!

My grip and button cap setup is such that my fingers touch, but not trigger, the top knuckle triggers. That way I can trigger them by just the tiniest finger stretch.
I am unable to reach the front-most button next to the LMB.
I also use the tilt feet even when not using tilt, because it's more convenient to be able to tilt the mouse slightly when moving it left and right, it adds a little more mobility.

    My keybinds are as follows:
    - ability 1 and 2 on thumb buttons 1 and 2
    - zoom on 30% deep click on RMB
    - reload on right knuckle trigger push
    - map on right knuckle trigger pull
    - interact on left knuckle trigger push
    - inventory on left knuckle trigger pull
    - melee on left fingertip button, though you could also go with the left extra button

The idea behind this setup is obviously to have all the most important and frequently used functions without needing to move my fingers anywhere.
The only instances where my fingers move on my mouse are a slight upwards movement of my thumb to activate the other ability and a slight inward or sideways movement of my index finger to use melee, which I almost never use.
I also move my index or middle finger respectively to open map or inventory, but it's way more convenient than finding an off-WASD key on the keyboard.
I like to keep one finger on every single "ASAP" button as I call them, which are buttons I need to be able to push instantly during combat, which map and inventory are not part of.

Nice! I wish I'd had that back in the day for SWAT4 and the old-school Rainbow & Ghost Recon games where judicious use of lean was important.

In terms of oddball devices, I use a Razer Orbweaver. Partly because all the buttons can be reprogrammed, but also because the four-way thumb button is great for weapon selection. Razers software is not great though, and I'd happily jump ship if there was an alternative.

I used to use the Logitech g13 and also tried the Razer Tartarus, but I could never find any use for the dpad or stick.
I have always used E for primary, Q for secondary and 1 or 3 for tertiary weapons without any issues. The only game where that turned out to be slightly sub-optimal was Vermintide 2 because I can't dodge to the same side as the weapon key while also pressing that weapon key to switch weapon at the same time.
But that has turned out to never be required anyway.

Recently I have become a fan of optical switches so I looked into the Tartarus Pro for the feature that lets you assign a second function to pressing the key down deeper, similar to the deep click of this Swiftpoint Z mouse, but I hear it got some bugs and I still don't know what to do with the thumb attachments, so I am leaning towards the Wooting One which can do the same thing.
Though apart from the ability to run when pressing W and sprint when pressing it down further, I can't yet come up with any other use for that feature, but I love how smooth optical and Hall switches are in general.

I use a Razer Tartarus myself. Yes, the software is clunky. I used a G13 for years but always assumed they'd come out with an updated version and since they didn't, fining an unused or like new G13 is ultra expensive now. I'd have bought a few spares if I'd known. lol

Logitech also discontinued my favorite mouse so it's expensive now too. The G700s. I'm using an old G602 I kept as a spare now. Nice but not the same caliber.
