the problem still persists and lets be realistic it will never be fixed.
There is one thing i would like to point out:
It seems like the problem occours way more often as soon as you update your online profile via the ingame profile manager (e.g.: Change your portrait or color). Because of this I would recommend to NOT change your online profile in any way, even if you just created it (needs more testing).
I hope this info helps some of you to prevent this issue in the future.

I just the other tried to load a game and it said that game could not be downloaded at this time try later. I change my profile and loaded the game from my documents folder. This has been going from really day one and like you said it will never change or be fix. They throw a bandaid on it and that is it.
So i started playing a few days ago , worked like a charm until yesterday when i tried to log in again and failed soo i decided it's time to create a new acc..it worked but today when i started to play my saved game it crashes.Tried to play multiplaye but it dsnt work because my key is linked to the other acc thats bugged.I don't even know what to do, if there is a way please help me.![]()

so, me and my friend just wanted to play Anno1404 History edition and complete some achievements.. Everything was alright. The problem is when we want to load our saved games and continue, the second player is not able to complete any achievement. When he wants to load our game, it says him, that he really isn't able to get them.
My question is, are we doing something wrong? Or is it just problem of the HE version?

Does your friend get any type of error message when playing the game with you that references the achievements? If so are you able to screenshot what that message is and upload it here please for us to view? If the game is working correctly your fiend should be able to acquire achievements too.
Can I just check you are both using the same exact update version of the game? It should tell you this on the games main title screen.
Can you also make sure you have updated your Uplay launcher to the Ubisoft Connect game launcher too? This seems to be causing some issue with synching and online features of some of our older games.
Hello everyone, sorry to see so many of you have been effected by the 'Download Failed' profile error message when trying to play your multiplayer games.
Just to clarify for anyone wondering how multiplayer games work in this edition of Anno, both the Host and Client can create a save game and this will appear for each user.
The Host and Client can also both load the created saved game in the main menu and automatically open a lobby for it.
When you receive the Download Failed error message, this means that either your profile file has become corrupted or there is a synching issue with the profile.
You can try deleting this profile and starting again - C:\ Users \ <Your Username> \ AppData \ Roaming \ Ubisoft \ Anno1404 \ Profiles
Your profile will have a filename such as 1234567890.profile.
Some workarounds have also been to log into the game using your Ubisoft Legacy username instead of an up to date username you are using. You can find this out by logging into your account here - https://account.ubisoft.com/en-GB/account-information
If neither of these workarounds have worked for you or you do not wish to start a new profile, we may be able to restore your profile for you through our support channels if you contact us here -

When submitting your ticket, please include the following:
- Your Anno 1404 profile file (you may need to compress the *.profile file to upload it - max 5mb)
- The CD key for your game
I apologise we have been unable to fix this issue permanently with the corrupted profiles in an update, but ask you to follow please the above workarounds. I will pass your feedback onto the Anno team about this reoccurring issue.
Hello, so I checked the versions and we both have Ubisoft Connect up to date and same version of game (v4.00.4253/1.5231.951665). I can just say, that the problem occurs, once we load the saved game. There was similar probelm in old version of the game, when you wanted to load game. Players, who didn't have the same saved game, weren't able to get achievements. I think it's something like protectiv mechanism against loading game from different profiles.
If you buy the new 1404 HE game you might not have the problem any more. Since the 1404 came out years ago. They have always had problems with the server.
Plus they is no online account you have to make. The game is online and off line at the same time. All your save games go to the Anno 1404 folder in your documents folder.
