Are you saying you are getting alot of crap gear? That's normal, just salvage it... you can use the salvage to upgrade and change look of armor/weapons and use it to get XP boost before matches.
Or are you saying that other people you see have ugly heroes and don't bother trying to make them look good? I don't always notice if people bother working on their heroes' look but a REALLY good looking hero seems to often get noticed.
Or am I off about both of my comments?
Your wrong about the crappy gear part. I like my gear, I was refering to the other players looking bland. I just started and I played Lawbringer for about 9.5 hours out of the ten hours, and my guy looks like a walk chalk billboard already. If a kid was given a box of Chalk and a cement square , my guy would be on it. I played that assasign lady with the dual blades from the knights faction and the play style is fine and easy to use. But her customization is like having a "kiss the chief" apron. Its literally just a tiny flap. So I dont use her. I was just asking if most ops have low customization options, a small surface to work with or its something else.
O ok I see what you are getting at. And YES there is definitely a huge disparity between different heroes and their customization "ceiling" as apposed to others Hero customization is very important to me as well and not having solid options does the same thing to me as it did for you with Peacekeeper... you simply lose interest in even learning the hero or wanting to grind it out with them.
Some heroes have only maybe 1 or 2 really cool looking ornaments and other heroes have so many cool ones you cannot even decide which to save your steel for. Knights also get to change their metal color which usually has a very major impact on their overall appearance but most of the Vikings and Samurai only get to change the color of a couple leather straps or slabs of wood on their outfits and it is quite underwhelming.
It also appears some heroes get alot more love from the armor/weapon devs than others when it comes to new armors and higher tier armors.
But most of all the thing driving me NUTS with customization in this game lately is the fact that Centurion, Gladiator, Highlander, Shinobi and Shaman just keep getting REPEATEDLY SNUBBED when it comes to new armor updates for over a year now... I think they have been skipped in the last 3 armor updates and UBI refuses to SAY ANYTHING on the matter.
I assume it has something to do with them being year one DLC heroes but that means people paid extra money or steel for them and they deserve AT LEAST the same attention the base heroes receive if not more! It's actually kind of killed my motivation to even both playing Glad and Highlander which are two of my favorite Heroes and it is unfortunate.
I could go on and on with ideas, problems, oversights and annoyances when it comes to customization but I also realize it means alot more to me than it does to probably most other players. Half of the cast at this point still doesn't have their own unique ranked ornaments and it just shows laziness on Ubi's part and short sightedness which BY FAR is Ubisoft's BIGGEST weakness.

Yeah, this might be based on historical purposes or a aggressive attempt at authentication. Viking seem to be wearing short shorts with the old 80's body builders fishnet tank top. Not much to go off of there, like you said with knights. Them guys are head to toe in either chainmetal which can be changed or wear cloth that can be changed. My guys got a cape and looks like its a cotton candy super hero. Before it looked like a big metal Big Bird from seseame street wielding an axe.Originally Posted by Xavyn Go to original post
In the hope's that you actually would like to hear my thoughts on the customization system and you weren't just teasing me for my post being a bit extra (would be totally fine if u were!) you've convinced me to put it altogether in an organized and to the point outline that I think would be best suited for a new thread. So stay tuned, ill put it up maybe tonight... more likely tomorrow.Originally Posted by WolfenTank Go to original post

I really liked the barbaric look tbh, it's just such a let down when the colors changed almost nothing. Only spent maybe an hour playing one of those gladiator looking guys. Just couldnt do it.Originally Posted by ChesterWeirder Go to original post
