    Valhalla Features vs Odyssey Features

Hello there, everyone!! So, I've been watching a lot of YouTube videos recently about AC Valhalla and am getting more and more excited for it. Most of the videos have been based on the six hours of gameplay that these folks had access to recently. Many of them have been comparing Valhalla to Odyssey. Three main areas caught my attention, and I was hoping to get others' thoughts about these or any others, in fact. They are:

    1. World Size. I have to admit that I really like Odyssey, but I'm finding the world to be way too big. It's kinda overwhelming, actually. Some of the YouTubers commented that the Valhalla world might not be as big, which I'm kinda hoping for. The Odyssey world was described as being "bloated", and I can't help but feel the same.

    2. Side Quests. I also have to admit that I'm finding side quests at every turn in Odyssey to be overwhelming. It's being said that side quests in Valhalla will be structured differently. I believe it was said that they would be more like stories. This sounds great to me!!

    3. Lack of Health Regeneration. Gosh, I'm a little concerned about no health regen, but maybe it will be alright.

Do any of you have any thoughts about any of these? Are there some things that you're looking forward to or not when compared to Odyssey?

Heard the same arguments and partially agree / disagree with your take on them

    1) I find that after every single AC game, the community says "The world is too big" or "The world is too small", whatever changes are implemented in the following title, the dissatisfaction will be present ' one way or another. I for one found the world size in AC Odyssey, very nice - and it could in my opinion even be larger. But I also like exploring, I don't mind running/riding/sailing long distances to get to where I want to go. I also think it is ok to have stretches of map without quests and objectives (like in Odyssey), which can give the feeling of a bloated world. So I guess this really comes down to personal preference and there is no right or wrong.

    2) This I also really look forward to! Smaller side quests with a more meaning full story. Odyssey (especially the repeatable quests) had a nature of "kill this guy", "loot that item" or "destory/kill X of these". This seems to have changed. Downside, at least for me personally, as it has now been confirmed there will not be repeatable stories, i.e. when the content is done - it is done.

    3) Really nice! While I always play the AC games on the hardest difficulty, and AC games are not known for beeing difficult I would say, I still would like to up the difficulty. Removing auto reg is for me one step in this direction.

    1. I hope with all my heart that the world of Valhalla will be much bigger then the world of Odyssey it'll be alright for me if it gets twice as big then Odyssey.

    2. Same goes for quests side quests the more the better.

    3. We'll just have to wait and see what Valhalla will offer us when it comes to health regeneration.

    1. Odyssey is big but much of it is sea actually , I hope land size will be bigger than one is odyssey

    2. Side quests in Odyssey were pretty good but I dont count time restricted quest which are pretty simple without any real story. Real side quest had different mark compared to those simple .

    3. I dont like lack of regeneration outside combat.

I don't agree, like the above poster points out Odyssey is largely sea - if they make up for it with a large landmass (river travel by boat) with a good mount of meaningful content, I'd prefer that. I kist prefer larger maps, not smaller. They just have to make the player want to explore.

Odyssey's map contained many islands and lots of sea but also underwater locations. Yet, the map was a lot larger than Egypt's. 21 km of in-game distance from NE of Lesvos to the SW sea border. I doubt that England will be much larger than this!

I love huge open world maps, Odyssey was great - but to be fair there were so many little places and towns that were *unused* or never even visited after finishing the game, i think this is such a waste.
Sometimes there was what looked to be considrable effort in creating area's and not even 1-2 (short) quests - after finishing the main story i still visited places for the very first time.

AC Valhalla will be big enough i think, and if they add Scotland - Ireland (??) and France maybe in expansions it will be awesome.
