    Gear Appearance customization

I hope we can customize the gear appearance like in Odyssey. I don’t like that the appearance changes as you upgrade the tier. I would rather be a rugged looking viking from start to finish than all shiny at the end game :/ Hopefully we can at least cycle through all the apppearance levels of a piece of gear like you could in Ghost of Tsushima if they don’t bring back the customization from Odyssey. Anyway just want to post this. Looking forward to the game.

I agree that there is an argument for having the option to "go back" to more rugged looks.
I hope we can revert as well.

Being able to mix and match different parts of different armors while keeping the same stats would be even better ..... I doubt I ever wear complete armor sets visually in Odyssey even 5% of the time .... I'll transmog a chest from one set, a waist from another, arms from another and feet from yet another ,,,,, It was a big part of what made Odyssey different and better than most other games in it's genre, you had an infinite variety of looks without mucking up your basic stats ......

Ja w Odyssey zawsze zmieniałem wygląd po strój najemnika z okładki i nie wyobrażam sobie że nie będzie sie dało tego zrobić w Valhalli. Zmiana wyglądu była bardzo dużą zaletą gry.

It has been confirmed a long time ago, and very well explained and showed in some videos: you can customize the look of your equipment, the same way than in Odyssey.
Also concerning getting higher "tier" equipment/weapons, I understood that you can upgrade them up to the endgame without having really to change them if you dont want to:
if you like your starting axe and your starting shield, you'll be able to play with it as long as you want, you'll just have to upgrade it with resources.
(someone correct me if I didnt have it right)

Can you show examples? Do neither recall to have read/watched or heard this confirmation/explanaition...

Yes, you can keep the same weapon from power level 1 to the end, and just upgrade it to make it stronger, BUT the upgrading of the item will change its look. As far as I know, we have no information yet if you can actually use the previous versions visual look while maintaining the stats of the upgraded versions.

I've seen (somewhere) a video where the player had modified the look of his gear. There were the same icon as in Odyssey for saying that the gear had a new skin.
But it was a few weeks ago, and I heard it from some testers maybe 1-2 months ago.
Not 100% sure though. I'll have a look at it.
But Odyssey had it, I see no real reasons why Valhalla wouldnt have it?!

My wish is the same. I don't want to be shiny either lol

I don't recall seeing any early gameplay vids where they showed changing gear appearance from the menu, but I found one that talks about having to/being able to change it so I'm hopeful we can do it.

    He talks about it @ 2:15 - 2:30ish

Well they took out one handed swords for no reason. These people are capable of anything.

    You have a point there : /

I'll see if I can get used to dual weapon wielding. If not, I'll probably stick with axe and shield.
