In these days, like I do every time before the release of a new game or Assassin's Creed,I have been playing the previous games to remember the road that take all us and me to Valhalla.
Two chapters that must be appreciated are surely Revelations and III.
At the end of the first and the beginning of the second we understand what is real happenning behind the war in the shadow of the Assassins and the Templars.
I don't deny that it could be the perfect ending of the series, not because the games after Assassin's Creed aren't good, but because it is diffuclt to understand in what way we are walking, what is our objective.
With the death of Juno in the comics, the arrive of Layla wich is the parody of Desmond at the moment and all the RPG elements that ruin the lore, what is the Assassins' objective?
Valhalla should be the end of the mythological trilogy of Assassin's Creed and it should be the melting pot of all the narrative arcs we saw so far.
And for this reason I think and hope that Valhalla will be the new Assassin's Creed III,whose end will have an important and big impact on the future of the series.
What do you think?
P.s.Darby said that in these hours some spoilers have been discovered.
If you know them, don' tell them.
Yeah I managed to find them. It helped answer a question for me, although not completely.Originally Posted by cap.cla Go to original post
I would like to talk about it though. So how's about supporting the 'SPOILERS FORUM'?
I wouldn't deliberately drop spoilers!
I think that there will be a spoiler forum only at the release of the game.Originally Posted by thegardener25 Go to original post
I suggest to write that your discussion is about a spoiler in the title without writing iys argument.Anyhow I don't how many people there are that want to get spoiler eight days before the release of the game.
I hope not because AC3 was my least favorite from a gameplay and story perspective. :O
But I understand that you mean if it would close the arc from Layla and other storylines like AC3 did. And I hope it will go in that direction. Laylas Storyline is going to nowhere and since Odyssey everyone hate her. Junos story was just moved into a comic and we have so many lose ends from other story-arts. They need to make the way free for a new and better developed storyline Modern Day wise and develop it in a way like the good old Desmond days where they had an strong narrative and actually a PLAN where the story should go.
Valhalla really has the chance to bring these lose ends wich we have since Black Flag together and start a new more exciting storyline. I totally agree with you and hope that Valhalla will have such an impact on the storyline as AC3 has, maybe also Ubisoft should think about getting an Lore master for the series already...
Depends on the opinion, I explained very often of worse it got for me because of this. But I am glad that Valhalla will try to move the new RPG way and Old AC together somehow. They also stated that it will handle mythology exact like Origins and not Odyssey. Wich means no magic and only illusions.Originally Posted by Dj0rdje12 Go to original post
Personally I couldn't wait when AC will move away to a time period with the next game where it give no mythology. For me most of these parts just feel like any other fantasy game and I am more interested in the history of AC instead of fighting magic beasts.
The way they're going, I assume that by "tying the whole series together," they just mean that this is the last game in a circle that leads back to the first one & they'll probably try starting off their first game in the PS5 era with a new story. So, I don't expect this game to mean anything more than exactly that, but if it does, I will be pleasantly surprised. By saying there will be more "Assassin" mechanics, I think it just means that there will be more of the old Assassin-Templar dynamic than in the last two games & that's about it. Everything else they've promoted just makes it sound like it's still got a hell of a lot of both Origins & Odyssey in it, though I don't really mind that.
This game has to be good. They've smoothed out the game mechanics in Odyssey from Origins, they're doing even more smoothing here & it's being done by an excellent storyteller. I personally like both new & old styles of gameplay, but I can already say I'm having a bit more trouble controlling Bayek in fights than I did Cassandra.
I also agree about the magical beasts. Luckily, it seems unlikely that too many of the things could still be around the later into human history we go, so we're likely to only see a lot of them in games with settings 1500yrs old or older.
I'm having trouble finding the exact quote, but I believe this may have been referenced as completing Layla's arc.
Of course, that doesn't mean that Layla's finished, and it certainly doesn't necessarily mean that it's the finale to the series. Assassin's Creed has had several arcs by now, some even overlapping- the Desmond Saga, Abstergo Entertainment, the Ezio Trilogy, Initiates, the American Saga, the Layla Saga... if anything, I'm really curious what's next!
