You wont get to enjoy Ray tracing at DX11 which sucks.. but at least we can play the bloody game lol

DX11 at Ultra settings, DLSS at Quality, 1440P

DX12 at Ultra Settings, DLSS at Quality, 1440P, Ray Tracing on (Ray tracing on or off doesn't change AVG FPS)

Mate i honestly refuse to play this game without RTX. This is the promo game of RTX i found with my video card, it's insane thinking to disable such feature. They have to fix it asap.

Absolutely not, the drivers are definitively not a problem. I have everything up to date and WD Legion is the only game that causes me this kind of issue. RDR2, Death Stranding, AC Odyssey, RE3, Horizon; they all run perfectly.

    Same problem over here.
FPS is terrible when driving, drops to 40-45 fps with GPU usage at 40-50%. Activating DLSS doesn't seem to do a thing for performance.
DX11 seems a bit better (still frame drops while driving), but playing this game without RTX.. man that's just wrong for RTX 3080/3090 owners.

I really think Ubisoft should update their 'Launch Known Issues' thread. They make it look like they fixed RTX performance (frame drops), what clearly isn't the case.

    My specs:
    Aorus RTX 3080 Master
    Intel i5 8600K @ 5Ghz
    16 GB DDR4 RAM
    1 TB M.2

I think that the resolution of this problem should have priority "0", before than any other issue (crash and game funcionalities) since basically it doesn't allow us to play the game at all.

So i agree with you, the Ubi support team should update the main thread.

Good analysis by Digital Foundry (as always) which definitely sheds light (no pun intended) on the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HC8cjfHSvo

Alex offers some good explanations (CPU, definitely) and his settings suggestions provide some improvement, although I've also made some small changes on my machine that might also explain the possibly subjective improvements I've seen last night (will need a bit more time to investigate, which I have not right now).

Why is this issue not listed in the known issues list?

Also why is the "When playing with RTX on frame drops can be experienced." point marked as fixed when it clearly is not?

This issue affects almost every 3080 or 3090 owner regardless of CPU model.
In my case a 9700k@5ghz should be able to run this game properly, not even talking about a 10900k or 3900x.

Ubisoft make this issue a priority so that we can finally enjoy your really good game!

I had a ticket up for 4 days asking about the same issues everyone is describing here but no response.

I also got the game as promo with my 3080.
Similar result no matter setting, been trying them all, stutters and freezes all of the time...

Sure my rig aint the latest but checks all the boxes on recommended by Ubisoft.

    Ryzen 2600x@4Ghz
    16gb@3200Mhz
    RTX3080 Ventus 3x OC
    Installed on SSD

Got latest drivers, tried all kind's of tweaks and optimizing, even overclocking both ram and CPU, no changes, spent far to many hours trying to get the game to run better, far more then i spent in game.. It is pissing me off.

Also found running Riva Tuner that the game is not utilizing all the assets, game runs with good fps but has all these drops and spikes that ruin the game.
Also running in dx11 mode makes the light shining in to the pub and some other places looks like som pixelated Amiga rendered game..

I seriously can't describe how annoying and bad this is, when you get a brand spanking new flagship gpu and the promo game included to flex the new GPU's muscles just fails to deliver.. This is obviously unrelated to anything Nvidia, but sadly it spills over on their brand aswell for choosing to promo a game that runs like garbage, failing to showcase their new GPU. Just sad all over.

Dude spending time try to make it works is pointless. Not because of your ability in finding the best setup, because the game is simply broken. I spent some time too, i also tought that it was fault of my Ryzen but after googlin' the issue i understood was not fault of my rig and i shut everhithing off.

We have to wait, nothing more.
