I'm glad I got the game for free because this is unplayable for me.
I tried camera effects off.
maxed the fov.
but while driving i get motion sick really quickly.
I didn't have this problem with the previous game. Something is all sorts of !@#!@ up with how they implemented it here.
The main problem I see is I can't change the view while driving which immediately fixed things for Watchdogs 2.
It was the 'Z' keypreviously but they seemed to have left that option out here.
Yes, I can hook up the computer to the tv and play how many feet away, but with a controller.
Nope. If I wanted to play this with auto-aim, I'd be playing it on a console.
Honestly, even while not driving the camera views in this game are all sorts of wonky and thats even with fiddling with the Camera Centering option too.
Oh well, I tried.
I hope Assassin's Creed Valhalla didn't make this mistake.
If you're interested, here are some suggestions that would help You might already have some of this stuff done, but I am just putting all the information I have out there:
While a lot of the things on this list might seem silly or common sense, you will be amazed at how many of them people ignore. It's usually brightness, saturation, sharp details and the main one, is FOV that are the main cause combined with the temperature in the room and how hot you get, has major ramifications.
First and foremost drink water, not this monster energy garbage (Stay hydrated)
1. Turn off Bloom
2. Turn off DOF
3. Turn off Motion Blur
4. Turn down shadows and lighting effects
5. Turn off ray tracing
6. Turn down the contrast and brightness both in the game and your monitor
7. Play with air blowing on you (I.E. a fan or play in an ac cooled room
8. Play the game with the lights on
9. Sit back from your monitor about 3 feet
10. Wear Sunglasses
11. Close your eye for about 1 minute every 10 minutes (or as needed)
12. Focus on one spot while playing the back of your character is a good idea as your peripheral vision takes care of what you need to see
13. Stop playing and get up and walk around for 2 minutes every 15 minutes and stretch.
14. If you have one, use a controller to play
Pretty much everything on this list should hopefully alleviate a lot of your problems.
Hello riverslq,
Sorry to hear about your experience.
Have you tried the steps listed above by any chance?Originally Posted by S_Tanner Go to original post
Yes. I have tried some of the options, others just aren't doable.
I was able to work around this in watchdogs 2 and other games by changing the camera view while driving such as what was in Watchdogs 2.
(or the camera view in general)
I'm good with 1st person games, and most 3rd person games but a wonky camera in a 3rd person setting will throw me off every time.
I'm fortunately not the only one with this complaint so I know it's not just me.
With a controller, it's not really much better since the camera seems all sorts of screwy anyway, mouse or controller. The camera view (not plural since it's locked) in this game feel like one hell of a regression.
I am actually having the exact problem.. Reminded me of the first time I tried VR.. Same exact problem. I think it is to do with how the player's character is positioned on the screen instead of allowing the player to adjust camera view to put the character on the center we can't so for people like us we consantly check the character's placement on the screen. =(
I subscribed to Uplay+ and beefed up my PC to play this game as I am a fan of the franchise but I really can't play the game unless we get the option of changing camera angle.
I AM SO DISAPPOINTED.. right now.![]()
For me, yes. In the previous game there was the option of the changing the camera view by using the 'v' key I think it was.
Something similar to that would help, as well as unlocking the camera from the car when it turns. (major issue)
It feels nothing like, and behaves nothing like the previous game. I also bring up GTAV as another example of how the camera view works in other games in 3rd person view.
Honestly, I could also bring up RDR2's riding a horse as well. Watchdogs: Legion is just... off. That camera locked to the car is the killer, especially with a mouse and keyboard...
Outside of a car could use an improvement as well, though it's not as major of an issue since personally I only have a motion sickness problem with the driving part of the game.
Using the same resolution (3440x1440), in 3rd person I believe the camera is further away from the player's character vs Watchdog Legion which feels rather close.
This is with Watchdogs Legion at FOV 90, and Watchdogs 2 FOV at 70, both at the same in game resolution.
