I just purchased the game on xbox, but I don't have xbox live because I think it's stupid to pay monthly for an online service, since I'm not really interested in online playing.
While searching for info about for honor I learned that Ubisoft basically just stopped letting people get rewards from battles against bots?
clearly this seems to be the case since I don't get anything from "multiplayer" against AIs. I literally have 2150 steel that was given at the beginning, which means I can't even unlock all players to play, or have any kind of progression. If I knew I was getting the game for 3-5 characters and short story mode, I wouldn't have bothered.
It's literally a PVP game, maybe research your games better before buying them.Originally Posted by Yangpaine Go to original post
I'm aware of what the game is it's a fighting game, that doesn't mean its a PVP game alone. in fact, developers inbedded AI systems into the game so people can enjoy it, and they allowed people to progress with them as well, they just decided to patch it later on for no reason. Telling people to just not buy the game because it's set in a certain way is same thing as needlessly alienating to potential consumers. maybe don't shoo off people for voicing what they want?Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
Arcade mode seem to come only with a DLC purchase for it. I only have the base game, and as far as I can tell- I've played at least 4-5 differnt kinds of battle modes, ranging from 2v2 to 4v4 of varying kinds with AIs, no reward, no steels, no loots. I can find people talking about "bug" that weren't letting people receive rewards 3 years ago, but seeing as how there's no ubisoft's fix on it, it looks like they just let it happen and never looked back as many games do.Originally Posted by Nydardoloth Go to original post
what's more frustrating is that they don't even announce it as 'you can't get rewards against bots'. It literally just tells me that the server is having problems, but I don't receive anything, and I have tried shutting the game off and turning it back on. Seems like it's difficult to find playerbase that doesn't like getting online service subscriptions these days..
Hmm this is a tricky one. And yeah Arcade mode is a part of The Marching Fire DLC. I guess because no one bothers playing For Honor in an offline capacity this issue hasn't come up but since the OP is in fact trying to play this way I would say it is a legitimate complaint and should be addressed. Good luck to you.
Hey, Thank you for the support! I have to say I am surprised that it has not been addressed by others, even if it were a rare case incident. what is silly seem to be that if "matchmaking" was turned on (which I can't do because xbox live), you might get rewards against AIs anyway? or that is what i would assume since people would get rewards based on the off chance that someone will joint their game, and that would have probably enrage others way before I did.Originally Posted by Xavyn Go to original post
I've been playing this game from day one exclusivly against bots, never had PS+, because i suck against real people (Or even level 2 bots).Originally Posted by CanadianSoupMan Go to original post
The game has always allowed me to progress by playing matches in any mode Vs. AI with matchmaking off, not just Arcade mode. This way i've reached rep. 970 till now.
Don't tell us it's (exclusively) a PVP-game, when it clearly is'nt just that
Do you still get your rewards with the match making option off & against AIs? I wonder why mine is giving me problems, if you don't mind me asking, which console are you playing on?Originally Posted by SmoothSeparator Go to original post
No , not anymore after the maintenance on October 20th.
I've always received rewards and troops playing any game mode vs AI with MM off.I've never had PS+
I'm on PS4
There are a lot of threads on the community support forum as well about this issue,
It's an issue on the side of Ubisoft, so they'll have to investigate and fix it.
Gotcha, It's good to know that the "issue" is recent, and considered an issue. I hope they revert back to it, rather than leaving it as a patch of some sort.Originally Posted by SmoothSeparator Go to original post
