Proposal - change to seasonal event rewards

By now, we all know the score for the rewards track on seasonal events (i.e. leagues, global events). A couple of named item caches, seasonal item caches, an exotic cache (two if you've completed the event previously) and a bunch of material caches few people really care about. This is not a particularly attractive incentive for people to redo an event.

    Proposal

    - Drop the material caches and replace them with named item caches
    - For the rewards track where someone has completed the event before, replace one of the exotic caches with a named item cache that drops two named items at the legendary quality tier.

    Rationale

Materials can be obtained by farming the open world, deconstructing loot, or by using the SHD watch (for those who've maxed it out). They have little value to the vast majority of players

Exotic caches are also available to players via the weekly projects. Additional multiple exotic caches aren't attractive to players who may already have all the exotics, especially as they don't drop raid exclusive items.

Named item caches can drop DZ exclusive items, making them more attractive to players who don't go in the DZ.

I usually have stacks of material caches because I'm maxed on materials and get nothing from opening them. At least in The Division, I could see the stuff drop on the floor so I could craft something to sell, then pick the stuff up. This game just gives you nothing beyond your capacity to carry it.

So, yeah, material caches are insulting at this level.

If I hadn't given away all my +'s for the week to an SC buff idea, I'd give them to this.

Named Item Caches >>>> Exotic Caches [since I have all the non-IH/BigHorn, which won't drop from them].

    You're not recalc'ing enough

I run out of Mats all the time, but I'm constantly recalc'ing to try new builds/ideas.

I never get anything worth recalibrating. lol

I've only been playing on challenging and sometimes, even hard. The loot is all garbage. All of it. I see no difference between challenging and story in the loot quality.

The only piece of loot I ever keep is occasionally from a field prof cache.

I still randomly get solid pieces from Hard or Challenging. When's the last time you made a proper sacrifice to RNGesus? Offered up a prayer? Confession? Even thought about the much maligned prophet of luck in a non-negative manner?

I dismantled three exotics this morning. That count? lol

Before we had material caches, people did re-supply runs around the Sinkhole CP or the sewers in West Potomac. While the material caches are a convenience, doing those takes all of a few minutes (assuming you have Sinkhole captured). People with maxed out SHD watches don't even need to do that.

100% Agree. I can get several exotic caches through the course of a week now given multiple ways to earn them on multiple characters. Part of the reason I don’t invest more time in some events, in the global events in particular, is that rewards just don’t seem worth it.

I’m always tinkering around with multiple builds across different characters, so I recalibrate a decent amount, but a trip down to ye olde East Mall farm usually more than takes care of it. There are tons of crates between the four control points. I definitely can say that a shot at a better rolled Dark Winter (or other named items) would be more meaningful to me than another exotic cash with Acosta’s Go Bag.

    Good idea.

    Don't miss the solar farm.

Now, can you explain the maxed out watches comment?
