Sounds a terrible event. Not sure what to make of the story at the moment, severe casualties for a guy with a brace of hand guns but then the Virginia Tech shooter was more harmful with just a single pistol. I'm concerned at the possibility this may've been an actual premeditated attack with multiple assailants, the media are reporting several arrests as well as one dead shooter. Coming, as it does, with the deaths of 5 British soldiers by a 'friendly' and the attack on the UN hostel in Kabul, one wonders if this might be simple coincidence or some thing much more sinister.
Grim stuff with scary connotations.
The worse thing that could be done would be to base the military on race. You`d just guarantee that everyone not of the allowed race would simply join the enemy. Better to have one muslim go off the deep end than that. Though I think it`s too early to even say if this is what really happened.
My condolences to the families of the service people killed.
Or maybe his wife left him, and he was up for deployment; who knows at this point?
And the conspiracy train starts rollin'.
I am personally avoiding the news until tomorrow when I get home. The media is trickling out hearsay, unsubstantiated facts, etc. That's one of the bad things about the information age/24hr. media, they just throw **** out at will.

It has less to do with his name, race, religion or country of origin than what he's been possibly indoctrinated with.
White power, black power, militant Islam, etc are all virulent and dangerous corrupting of minds.
My heart goes out the victims and their families.![]()
I am close to where it happened. I went to give blood tonight at a hospital where wounded are being taken care of but they said they did'nt need any more blood and to come back in the morning.
Fortunatley for us we live off-post or we would have been locked down.
Last year my wife often worked in the same building where this happened, she quit when she was too pregnant to work.
This morning my insurance company refered me to a pediatric dentist which is located next door to where it happened. I decided to go with another dentist to avoid the hassel of going on-post. Just a chance of fate.
But what a tragedy.
It makes me sad and angry.
Nidal Malik Hasan said
Fort Hood shooting: Nidal Malik Hasan 'said Muslims should rise up'
Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who killed 11 people before being shot dead at Fort Hood, had said Muslims should "rise up" and attack Americans in retaliation for the US war in Iraq, a former army colleague said last night.
Col Terry Lee, a retired officer who worked with him at the military base in Texas, described angry confrontations between Maj Hasan and other officers after he expressed his views.
"He was making outlandish comments condemning our foreign policy and claimed Muslims had the right to rise up and attack Americans," Col Lee told Fox News.
"He said Muslims should stand up and fight the aggressor and that we should not be in the war in the first place." He said that Maj Hasan said he was "happy" when a US soldier was killed in an attack on a military recruitment centre in Arkansas in June. An American convert to Islam was accused of the shootings."
The General who gave the press conference says there was only one shooter.
The guy was born in the U.S. He has always been Muslim, and is of Middle-Eastern descent. He wanted Muslims to rise up against us.
Since he is alive, maybe we will find out his motives.
Another classic example of a ******* who joined the Military for the free ride thru medical school, and had no intention of defending his country when he was called to serve in that capacity...a complete waste of oxygen.
