The vendors outside each DZ main entrance occasionally sell DZ exclusive gear such as the Hollow Man mask, Claws Out holster and System Corruption gear set. However, you need DZ resources to buy them.
Currently (TU11.1), there are two ways to get DZ resources:
1. Deconstruct contaminated gear within the DZ and extract the resulting resources. After a successful extraction, the resources will be in your mailbox. However, this puts you at risk of encountering a rogue agent before completing an extraction, and losing whatever you picked up.
2. Farm boxes in the DZ. Any DZ resources you find are immediately added to your resources, and cannot be lost if you die.
Boxes containing DZ resources look like thinner versions of the boxes that contain electronics/ceramics:
Someone on reddit has put together a couple of maps showing the locations of these boxes:
https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision...rk_zone_south/
https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision...ark_zone_west/
I'll add the link for DZ East if they ever put together a map for that.
The best time to farm is just after a DZ has switched from invaded to non-invaded. All boxes refresh when this happens, so you have a better chance of getting resources. Note that resource boxes in an invaded DZ cannot be farmed as they are all open.
In terms of effort, it's possible to farm 30 resources within half an hour. For reference, the most expensive item @ L40 costs 152 DZ resources.

Yes, they get added to your resources immediately. The boxes are on a cool down before you can farm them again, though I'm not certain for how long - gut feel is at least an hour.Originally Posted by UMUSTBBORNAGAIN Go to original post
I think an hour is about right.Originally Posted by dagrommit Go to original post
One of the three DZs is very unpopular on PS4, and is only active during Invaded status, so I've been solo farming in there forever, if I want just want DZ resources. As long as you don't do landmarks, you'll be undetected while getting the boxes. Afterwards, you can pop a fake extraction, move to another and get the extra stuff out.
Then, do your landmark clears until the boxes reset.
Generally, you needn't worry, if there isn't already 4 rogues ganking, when you get there.
I rarely died doing this. Used same tactics in Division 1 when not in a group.
Only time I got in an unintended firefight was after reviving a player at a landmark. His friends went rogue and they 4v1'd me with shield builds, complete with trash talk, as if they were some sort of 'elite fireteam'. Lol.
It was more funny, than frustrating. You can sometimes find really cool ppl there.
You've been giving up too easy and missing some of the most hilarious content in the game by avoiding DZ. It's truly hilarious listening to adults act like they're some sort of real life evil PMC trash, and how they get off on it. It is awash with bellyburster moments.
Sure, DZ01-09 was sweet, but these new ones look good and are easy to sneak around. Use pulse resist, since the bastards removed our beloved Conceal Pulse.
*Edited a few mispellings.
Darkzone resource boxes are your best bet to accumulate resources.
You can try to extract deconstructed items, but if you have my luck some psychotic punk is going to steal your loot and ruin your day. I've lost count of the number of extractions failed due to arse-hole players, who then jump me with their f-wit flunkies when I try to defend it. Not worth your item and it just makes you HATE people even more!
"Elite fireteam" indeed. Probably playing on their potato computers, from the mommies basement.Originally Posted by BoringPostcardz Go to original post
Running landmarks, and deconstructing the items as they pop, then extracting is your best bet. I've extracted solo just fine for an overwhelming majority of my DZ time. I have well over 2K in total DZ resources sitting in the mailbox that I can even pull out because I'm maxed out.
Getting jacked is not the norm on XB.
It is on pc, you really need to only go in as a group of 4 as then you stand a good chance of gank protection.Originally Posted by TxDieselKid Go to original post
Now at least on pc finding a group of 4 is near impossible at least at the times I play(US Overnight)
