No provision has been made for this. Matchmaking on the Summit only filters difficulty.
By introducing a Weekly Summit Floor 100 Completion Exotic Cache, they created a conflict with those players still farming for Ridgeway exotic components.
From the perspective of the Weekly Summit Floor 100 Completion Exotic Cache, they couldn't allow a matchmaking level filter. Players would simply filter their insertion to the highest level, and claim their exotic cache with minimal effort, rather than randomized lesser effort.
However, from the perspective of those players still farming for Ridgeway exotic components, they made it exponentially more difficult to do so. There are three causal variables to this:
- Matchmaking. Given that components are now categorized by floor ranges, rather than by the former difficulty level (floors there being incidental), matchmaking fails players in this regard.
- The Ratcheting Level Saves. Given that saves are now progressive, and preclude the repetition of floor ranges to acquire specific respective components, should a player fail to acquire said components upon completion of a respective floor range, they are now forced to return to the lobby, reset their progression, and recomplete ALL PRECEDING floors to said floor range, in the CHANCE that they may be successful on the subsequent attempt. Should they fail again, they would be required to repeat this process.
- The Ratcheting Level Saves are ACCOUNT WIDE, not per character. Should a player have multiple characters, especially with expected varying degrees of progression with respect to component acquisition, they should be advised that only one floor save is stored per account, and is therefore applied when a player transitions to any qualifying alternate characters.
Exactly. The down side to this is that, for example, completing 100 floors on Legendary is comparatively far more time consuming than completing the one weekly Legendary mission for its respective exotic cache.Originally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post
They would also still need to rethink how the current setup affects Ridgeway component farmers.
I just play because it's fun, never bothered farming in either division. If I find good gear, I'll use it, but I could care less if I don't. Have other things to do with my time than running Lexington 10 hours straight for that chest.
I have a couple people I co op with, and do pubs otherwise if I feel like playing. Got the build I want, and since I'm OCD among other things(clinical diagnosis), I use one build for everything, sort of a tanky combat medic. Always done my own builds and never gave a **** about the meta, been gaming since 1986, don't need to prove I'm good anymore, I do this for PVE, PVP is for other, better games where skill alone matters, and not what gear you use.
