Today is a Good Day for Humor: Will there be a Division 3

No Way, No How, What was I a crazy old man for even asking the question, lol?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Granted if they ever did consider one, they would have to take the following steps:

    1. They would need a NEW Development Team
    2. They would need to go back to old school Division 1 and incorporate items such as survival with the weather elements into the game (absolute must)
    3. They would need to do a lot more testing of their game before rolling out new content trying to exploit bugs as much as possible.
    4. Silence is a really, really bad thing after massive changes that impact player experience, they should have a sotg after any major update
    5. They need to have a team specifically assigned to addressing bugs, 6 months to fix some while constant new content rolls in is kind of backwards.
    6. I saw a great idea on these forums yesterday, have a poll for big changes and only implement them if the vast majority of players chime in. Not many people go on the forums regularly or on redit, I think most would prefer to be gaming rather than wasting time in here. Pretty sure it is not that hard to program a yes or no poll at the beginning of the login for all players on major change considerations.

Anyway I am sure people have many more suggestions. I doubt Ubisoft will respond to this or take my suggestions, but I am going back to gaming, hope everyone has fun on whatever they play.

This development team has improved upon TD1 and through TD2 - they just need less interference from Ubi [recent scandals show that Ubi had a culture problem that was a negative drag on their development houses].. I'm willing to give them a longer runway during Covid too [highly collaborative jobs are harder during WFH]
Less than 5% of TD1 players ever extracted from Survival [though I'd love it in TD2 or TD3, personally].. and there is dynamic weather in DC.. do you just mean snow?
Bugs are a problem, I wholeheartedly support getting them a bigger/better QA team
They are having a SOTG today.. They also had a SOTG two weeks ago highlighting everything coming in TU11.1..

I like the in game polling idea a lot

Whatever happens, DO NOT revert back to TD1 gunplay, that was terribad.

If so, im willing to bet the DZ will be brought back to some of its former glory. Just meaning it wont be these horrible small zones they created in TD2 for the sake of graphic enhancements which basically killed the whole lore of the DZ for me. Dont get it twisted though, i still expect it to be full of cheaters because, well, they havnt done anything substantial to stem it in the first two games that has had any real effect to this point so if they havnt done much in the 5 previous years i have nothing to go on to think that will change. Regardless, thats still years away if it ever happens.

Someone in another thread brought up something I fully agree with: The DZ now, is too far afield from how it was originally envisioned

It was supposed to be the wild west, but instead they put their thumb on the scale in favor of the PvP players [for whom I thought Conflict was created for]. As you noted, they should expand the size of the DZ [or just insert a NYC DZ?]. They need to eliminate the extraction notification - you should have to spot the flare or hump it when you hear the helicopter coming in. They shouldn't show if a landmark is being engaged either.

Two other ideas I like: Going Rogue spawns a Hunter who aggro's on the Rogue [idea from the original TD1 Hunter intro podcast] - killing the Hunter should guarantee a Named DZ Item drop. Going Rogue also should mean you lose access to your skills [you foresake ISAC, but he lets you access his toys?] - though maybe give them a small radius Jammer Pulse on a 30s cooldown?

Lastly, they should have a PvP modifier for Intimidate & In Sync.

yep, remove all the notices of where people are farming and extracting for sure. Its just silly, especially on the landmark notification. I like the ideas of Hunters in there as well but dont necessarily see the need to have one spawn every time you go rogue but i wouldnt be against it. Id hate to lose my skills and such as well but maybe if you go Rogue, then a hunter spawns and if you dont kill the Hunter and leave the area then your skills become void for a time.

Random chance works for me - right now there is nearly zero risk to going Rogue

A prior idea I had, was to increase the Risk/Reward - so you lose your skills [plus threat indicator], but gain 10% Armor & WD along with the Jammer Pulse - and reaching Manhunt status got you access to the Thieves Den for 24hrs. Any non-Rogue ending a Manhunt would have a 10 minute window to find a terminal that revealed location/access to the Thieves Den. Thieves Den would rotate Name DZ Items daily, plus Yaahl & SC gear.

The thing is the 3 Dark Zones was the original design and what was going to be released in The Division ergo the first game.

Big difference was those 3 dark Zones were not walled off area's so to speak they were also part of the open world LZ where what you pick up(if it was special) you had to take it to a DZ to extract., and i suspect looking at the original design there might have been more.

If you want evidence here you go. for the original design/s

3 dark zones (one direct in front/one up above/one to the right on the map.

AS to my theory of the DZ's were part of the open world.(Evidence)

Here is the official gameplay Trailer they released.

Go to 4.50 in the video, the group has just done a mission (police station ) they then pick up a weapon from the Armoury and one says you better get it out before you lose it. they then go out the back of the police station to extract it (and another group of players turn up, then the character/voice says lets prepare for P v P.

PS: again you can see the 3 Dark Zones at the end as the map pulls out.

So who knows what they have planned for Div 3 considering alot of the original designs have appeared in The Division 2. How many more will they re-introduce.

Original designs for The Division that appeared in Div 2

    3 Dark Zones
Factions throughout the city fighting for control.
    Control points
    Blinder firefly
    Shock skills.

There are probably more to name.

You could be right on all of it but the only reason i even said graphic enhancements is because that is what Thylander(dev) said in a conversation once, he said the consoles couldnt handle 24 players in a larger zone in the pvp enviroment with the enhanced graphics of the new game without causing major performance issues so they made appropriate adjustments but it could of had to do more with the # of players than the zone size come to think about it but i guess they kind of go together as you wouldnt want a super sized DZ with 12 folks in there.
