The game did not save the progression. I lost several hours of play. I went at 15% in the campaign, as my statistics show. But now in the game, threw back to progression 5%. Please help Ubisoft.
This issue has been reported to our development team, although I am sorry to say I do not have timescale on if or when this issue will be fixed. Please accept my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience or frustration this causes.
We currently don't have a workaround to recover your old progress since the progress is only saved locally. The best advice we can offer you, is to delete the corrupted file and start over with a new save file in order to avoid further loss of progression. Please note, you will have to start the game over.
If you have an experienced an issue with your save progress getting corrupted on PC, please try the following workaround:
1. Disable Cloud Sync in Uplay
2. Make a back up of the save game folder: https://support.ubi.com/faqs/000025801/
3. Delete save folder
4. Start game and create new character.
5. Do some stuff, get auto saved and quit the game
6. Enable sync in Uplay again
7. Start the game, It will prompt you with a choice between the local savegame and the cloud save game from the sync.
8. Choose local savegame.
9. You can now continue playing without having to create a new character again
The problem seems to be that the file in the cloud gets corrupted somehow and by following these steps you will overwrite the cloud save. If you don't disable sync you will only keep creating save game files on the corrupted file that's already there.
Hello mihalyete1,
Apologies we do not yet have a fix for this save game issue.
If anyone else happens to have this problem, please let us know so we can ask you some questions to report to the QA team, to help them investigate a fix for this issue.
We would like to know -
- Are you using one save slot or multiple save slots ?
- Are you playing the DLC or just the main game with no DLC downloaded?
- What was the last mission you did when your save was not corrupted?
Thanks everyone.
I got around the problem of Ubisoft creating corrupted cloud save files by de-activating cloud save a long time ago.
I do my own backups to an external drive upon completion of any gaming session.
It's great to hear that you keep manual back-ups, MikeWeeks. It's definitely recommended if you would like to prevent the possibility of any issues as much as possible.
If you, or anyone else, is still encountering issues with their save games for Ghost Recon Wildlands, please let us know. We'll provide as much advice and assistance as we can, though recovering your save games themselves is not something we can do, as this is only ever stored locally or in the cloud if cloud sync is enabled. I do apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.
