Doesn't matter, just clear landmarks. Enough documentation on the internet about farming DZ.

Not how it works. I've spent 6 + hours in the DZ farming The Gift and not a single one dropped. I opened a random DZ proficiency cache and there was The Gift. There's no rhyme or reason to any of this. Just keep farming. You'll get one.

    Not really.

The RNG in this game is so random and widespread you could farm 5 hours a day every day for a month and still not get it.

It's literally luck and RNG if and when it drops.

As an Example going back to The Division.

In my totall time 2000 hours in The Division iv'e only ever picked up 2 Barrets chest pieces (ran Lexington 150 times never got one) but ended up with 50 odd pairs of Skull Gloves.

A friend ran lexington 15 to 20 times and got two Barrets chest pieces. (i got mine from Proficiency caches)

In The Division 2 iv'e only ever had 3 Chameleons (yet a poster in here posted getting a chameleon every hour almost)

So yeah law of averages doesn't come into it.

    It's Pure RNG and Luck.

A DZ novice question here: when recieving a DZ proficiency cache do the items need to be "extracted"?

You're lucky. I farmed a minimum of 20 hours for mine. Actual game time in the DZ on both Providence and backpack days. Finally got a fully god rolled "perfect" one and it was rainbows. Took 3 more times in there to get one finally I could make all red with rolls good enough to use.

This weekend we ran in a solo DZ server for 10.5 hours and got 4-5 Virginian's. Only 1 had rolls good enough to use.

I have been looking for a Hollow Man for more than 48 hours of in game, in the DZ time, and have yet to see even ONE drop. Let alone that I want one with maxed out CHC/CHD as the 3rd attribute so I can roll the core armor to weapon damage. I may call in sick to work next time masks are in the DZ. LOL

No. They go to your regular cache inventory and you can open whenever. Usually only have 1 item instead of 2-3.
