I thought I saw somewhere that the new xbox controllers and the xbox series x together would provide a near instantaneous 2ms input lag, more comparable to higher end PCs?Originally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
Is the input lag/input delay 2 different things?
Input delay isn't entirely based on your input device. It also has to do with the hardware you're working with. in FH's case the biggest 2 causes are the systems themselves and the viewing device people typically use. Because xbox has new tech inside it that allows it to reduce input issues it in theory has a better chance at cutting away more of the input issues with hardware if the devs choose to take advantage of it. And no afaik they're the same thing.Originally Posted by MrBdur Go to original post

I've heard the bigger the screen, the lower the refresh rates, so I'm super excited to discover my 55" tv runs 60fps. It was originally locked at 30, but with a few google searches and some dabbling with my tv settings, I got it unlocked up to 60.
I can only imagine even newer, higher end tv's. Mine is a UHD 4K Samsung Smart TV, but it's already a few years old. Brand new tv's today could run 4K 120fps (which is what the Xbox Series X and PS5 are advertising their performance at.)
4k 120fps is going to be amazing for consoles. I don't think anyone expected it to happen for another generation. Consoles seem to be moving up to near PC standards. Finally.
IT'S ABOUT TIME.
I can't confirm or deny that claim as i'm largely unfamilar with tv specs. I haven't used one myself in years. All I do know is that it's not standard for TV's to have good refresh rates. And if you have a tv that has "gaming mode" for a setting that you should use it. Ideally you want your viewing device to have 5hz refresh rate maximum. The lower the better. FH being bumped up to 60fps for consoles will shave off some ms for the input delay issues which will be nice. But I'm hoping the devs will do a bit more with the upgrades on the next gen systems to make it closer to a good pc setup rather than the average one I have.Originally Posted by MrBdur Go to original post
Lower refresh is better? My tv was set to 30hz and i got 30fps, and now its at 60hz which allows 60fps?Originally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
Ok I'm really confused.
Last night I was playing PC for honor and everything felt fairly consistent and just better overall than console.
Today not so much.
Everything feels SO inconsistent.
Matches take FOREVER to find.
Everyone is toxic. More so than console.
Did you know there aren't even 100 GMs on PC? Aren't the GMs just the top 100 ranked players? Does that mean there are only 77 ranked players? GM #77 actually had a skill rating of 0. Wtf?
Some players I was consistently pulling off deflects with and parrying lights. Others, I couldn't even block. Can someone explain?
With this much inconsistency, I am baffled as to how any PC player can brag about how good they are. How do you know if you're better than another player if your machine is simply better than theirs? To really know if you're better than someone else, shouldn't you be running the same specs? Shouldn't you be playing on equal ground?
It would be like watching a ufc fight between a flyweight and a heavyweight. No matter how good the flyweight is, the heavyweight is so much bigger and heavier, that one hit and the fight is over.
There is a reason that competitive fighting or racing or any sport has separate classes of competition. Because it isn't fair otherwise.
To make competitive gaming fair, there needs to be consistency, and as many issues as console gaming has, at least its consistent.
That being said, 30fps just doesnt cut it for competitive gaming, so thank god next gen is going 60fps minimum, 120 max. Still quite consistent. The difference between those 2 won't be so huge to impact performance too much. Much better for actual balanced competition than PC.
I didn't buy a computer for gaming, anyways. I bought it for other purposes, thank god.
Anyways, I'm going back to For Honor on Xbox One, and I will suffer with 30fps until I get my hands on an Xbox Series X. Like I said, as many problems as For Honor has on console, at least it's consistent.
I am now realizing how much better For Honor is on Console compared to PC. It also only ever takes me like, 10-30 seconds to find a match, and there are actually 100 GM ranked players, with the #100 having a real skill rating. LolOriginally Posted by Empire_880 Go to original post
I am absolutely baffled at how bad For Honor is on PC. What a joke.
If you still visit the game on PC in the future, I think I would like to have a few games with you. I am a little burned out right now though.Originally Posted by MrBdur Go to original post
