Those days, I love to work with this shield's build :
Shield's Health : 16,3 millions
And here's the damage done by my Liberty exotic pistol on a headshot :
Yep.
3x Richter & Kaiser Gmbh (for the Explosive Resistance and the Repair Skill)
1x Alps Summit (for the Repair Skill)
1x Douglas & Harding (for the Pistol Damage and the 20% Headshot)
And the Sawyer's Kneepads
The Artificer's Hive heals 100% of my Bulwark's shield every 13 seconds.
Yes, I've tried « Foundry Bulwark » and « Belstone Armory », and I still prefer this one in the field.
Any comment?
Belstone is not specifically a shield-centric brand. The regen is generally stacked with Emperor's guard and either 3pc FB or a Memento backpack.Originally Posted by CrazyCatz_Black Go to original post
Personally I think you're going overkill on the shield repair. What exactly is there in the game that you would need that level of shield regen for? Facetanking entire rooms of legendary enemies?
Incoming healing doesn't do jack for you. They changed it awhile back so that it will only effect actual healing effects outside of yourself. So it's a wasted stat for this build unless you switch the hive for a fixer drone maybe? But then your skill repair stats would be wasted.
As for the gearing choices:
The combination of Intimidate + Adrenaline Rush and Sawyer's knees is a powerful one. However, consider this:
Memento will give you bonus armor on pickups to combine with Intimidate, which you will generally get to hang onto as long as damage is hitting your shield and not your armor. You'll also be picking up and additional skill tier(Blue + Yellow) to bump up the health of your shield while increasing the heals via the Hive. With full stacks, you will have gained armor regen and weapon damage that's on all the time without the restriction of standing still to activate Sawyer's. And it frees up your knee slot for Emperor's Guard for additional regen. or to keep your 3pc R&K brand bonus of 40% skill repair.
I think overall it will result in a more robust build, in terms of damage and survivability, and mobility as well. The tradeoff in gameplay is that you'll have to move to pick up memento tokens to gain access to bonus armor instead of just standing near them, but you won't lose your weapon damage when you move like you would with Sawyers, but also losing immunity to explosive stagger.
But ultimately it comes down to which playstyle you'd be more comfortable with. I'm honestly not sure which would be outright better. These are just some things to consider.
This is my Shield/DPS Hybrid build, works nice on Legendary Summit with 7 directives:
Technician for Artificer Hive and "free" Skill-Tier, Memento Backpack, Punch Drunk Mask, 2x Belstone, 1x Ceska Vyroba, 1x Grupo Sombra,
TDI "Kard" Custom for Skill-Tier and with "Preservation" for additional survivability.
4x Weapondamage + 3x Armor + 3x Skill-Tier
CHC approx. 60% - CHD approx. 110% - HSD approx. 150% - Explosive Resistance 20%
Armor: 1.3million
Here's a short proof of concept video (1 Floor Legendary + 7 directives):
Good stuff.
One of the best parts of this game is trying to out Math the AI's Math.
This game is based on numbers/Algorithms and Mathematical computations, so i make builds based on how the AI react to the numbers of our builds.
Iv'e found out that sometimes the AI stops or backs off if it learns my numbers can't be beat (to a degree) and or they get more aggressive when they know they can win, because their Math/Algorithm is higher.
Other than playing for laughs this is the reason i love this game.
Trying to out do the AI.
I used a static Hyena shield as cover against a Hyena, the AI stopped at one point as though it couldn't win.(or it recognised the shield numbers
Iv'e stood infront of Elites without losing health and they've stopped/backed off (as though) they knew the numbers were unattainable (ergo my numbers)
I still stand by the AI actually knowing how high your armour/health/damage output is and make their decisions on whether they can win or not.
The more they know they can win the more aggressive they get. (it's all in the numbers)
I’m using a similar build. 1.2m armor 60chc 110 chd shield health is only 8m but so far seems tanky enough, I haven’t tried legendary yet. Liberty gets 5m dps at the range. Using coyote mask, 2 golan, 1 ceska, 1 grupo, 1 belstone, intimidate/adrenaline rush. Not sure if I’m running the correct tech mods.
