I am in because the are going to use what was learned from the first game. No wait that didn’t happen. They will.......they will ........
There is no one that has the chops to deliver a Division sequel in the studio. They have a good foundation in setting, lore and squandered it.
They did a great job with TD2. The story is engaging and they fixed the horrid gunplay issues from TD1. Huge improvement on everything, but atmosphere [hard to compete with snowy, non-hurricane trashed NYC]. I also like the release of Seasons/Manhunts, as it helps give me direction for my farming/gaming - I was starting to get to the that spin the wheels stage, but now I at least have the veneer of doing something [all it really took, since TINA].I even hold the unpopular opinion that the Summit has good potential and loot quality/quantity is perfectly cromulent..Originally Posted by fredchocolate Go to original post
I was going to vote extend TD2 [ala R6S or Destiny 2], but then I started thinking about all the added missions. While I appreciated their continuation of the story, I actually don't much care for most of the new levels - probably just because they all seem to have some gimmick or plot armor that rubs me the wrong way.
I'm guessing the end of Season 4 leads into Nightmare, while setting up a second expansion. That expansion takes up the whole of 2021 [likely with a new DZ included, and taking place during winter] with another 4 seasons as they build toward the release of TD3 in 2021 [or if they don't get enough expansion purchases, the EOL of the franchise].
Never said anything about free content. I'm totally happy to give them $50-100 a year if they deliver a games worth of DLC every year and some cool Hunter/highly tactical cosmetics. I'd gladly pay this every year indefinitely. However the content weve gotten in nearly 2 years old Division 2 is worth about $30.Originally Posted by POP_King_Delica Go to original post
That's not necessarily true. It doesn't take a lot of effort to say.....add 5 unique Hunter masks to the hunters in Summit. 20% chance of 1 dropping. When you collect them all, you get a fully dyeable Hunter outfit. That's such a small thing to do, but those rewards would keep guys going after them for a month. How about at 100 raid clears you get a Ravenous drop that is 10% higher than the stock one? How about at 2000 SHD tech you get the opportunity to add ONE attribute to boost again on the watch? Just ANYTHING, even the smallest things to keep chasing is all we need. These things are so simple and so easy to. It baffles me why the Dev team doesn't understand this and keep with new small and fresh regular rewards.Originally Posted by NLxAROSA Go to original post
When it comes to keeping the hamster wheel going, I'm more of a fan of actual seasonal content (not the current seasonal rehashing of existing content with some narrative sprinkled on top of it), a.k.a. paid expansions that add levels, missions, narrative, gear, cosmetics and whatnot. So something like WONY, but every six months or so. Charge 40 bucks for it, fine with me.
All with you on the cosmetics though (big fan of cosmetics and it's the one thing in games I always end up spending cash on, which is probably why they don't give it away as much as we would like them to).
And agreed on the watch thing, it's an awesome concept but poorly executed. Why put the attributes on a rotation and not allow folks to choose their own path? Why not have additional functionality in the watch? (I'm thinking of a revamp of Specializations in there). Maybe hand out respec points or whatever.
Then again, anything added will probably end up like Textiles. :P
It has gotten to the point where I was asking for the old, removed, non-build defining talents, to return to the game and having them repurposed on improvised gear. Surely they'd be refreshing under Gear 2.0, no? Nor doesn't seem to require a lot of resources to implement.Originally Posted by NLxAROSA Go to original post
That's how starved I was, to the point where even old stuff / existing code would suffice.
Totally with you. If they came out with something like warlords, along with a new raid every 6 months for $30-40, I'd buy every one of them. But this recycled crap they call seasons now isn't something I'd pay for at all. I refuse to pay $40 a year for gimmics attached to the content I've already played over and over the last 2 years. New maps, new missions, major expansion DLC is what I'd prefer to see most, even if it costs me $30-40 every 6 months.Originally Posted by NLxAROSA Go to original post
