Hehe. It's sad, but true.Originally Posted by spike000001 Go to original post
After playing ACOD for 500 hours, I get that a shield would have changed the game a lot and would require some massive changes to many aspects of how you use your abilities or bow or weapons in general. its not a small thing. But the one handed sword addition in ACV isn't nearly as large. in a game with built in flexibility for duel wielding anything, it would have been less work to include a sword than a flail. I cant believe you have a flail and a shield and can duel wield battle axes and spears (no warrior duel wielded 2 handed weapons, and definitely didn't use a shield as an offensive tool) , and THAT seemed more important for them than adding a one handed sword.
I am trying to reconcile with the assumption that there are no one-handed swords in AC:Valhalla, but I am a swords guy so at least i wanna see how the greatsword ACV does have looks and feels.
Can anyone share a link to preview footage of anyone using the greatsword? Almost everyone used the axes, but not nearly anyone else used the greatsword.
And I would LOVE seeing a greatsowrd with shield combo. Does such footage exist yet?
Also, did anyone encounter footage of the dagger\knife in action? I know it exists and i've only seen in for 1 second in a video by JorRaptor (can't remember which one) where he used it in his off hand for a second. I wanna see more of it :P
It's so weird that barely anyone used the great sword.
Ive got your point, but should we really care HOW to implement such things. Shields should be in ACOD since day one. And the whole whining about "but you need one hand for the magical spear" - i dont care. Its a magical artifact, it could be in a neclace, a ring or something. No reason to sacrifice the most iconic item in ancient greece. The Shield. Come back with your shield or on it.
BTT: it would be a bummer if there were no onehanded swords, but as i said... prepare for the worst, expect the best.
There are several Community Developers who are active on these forums, but they generally don't reveal information that hasn't been announced elsewhere- NDAs kinda prevent stuff like that.Originally Posted by CyCzarn Go to original post
Regardless, they do listen to the community, so you can be sure that the other developers are likely aware that this is a feature players are interested in here.
