Well, at first: I am not a racist, but it really grinds my gears every time I see huge wall of text over and over again. If you are on operating base district, you will see a lot of regular (every 10 secs) almost identical messages on asian language (I can't say that it 146% Chinese). Only difference between different senders — contact information. It wouldn't be a huge problem, but new accounts are created on regular basis. I don't care, are they selling cheats, classified documents, Viagra or anything else. Their messages are not normal talking or any kind of chitchat, just annoying spam. And they just keep coming. For example, I muted 4 or 5 of them last month, but now I returned, and there are 2 more bots to mute.
P. S. I don't know, are they getting banned or not. I just want to get some attention to this problem. (In best case - automoderation system)
First of all, spamming in chat is against the code of conduct and no Ubisoft representative should be telling people to that nothing can be done except to mute those accounts.Originally Posted by Ubi-Spud Go to original post
Let me refresh your memory:
You must have never played the Division because the chat spammers are multitudinous and prolific. You can "ignore" (which is what it's called in-game, not "mute") each and every one of them, but the tide is literally never-ending. With all due respect, you have no clue what you're talking about. There are plenty of Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other Asian players who show up in chat and it's obvious that they're not spammers because their text is short, they don't post the same wall of text 50 times in a row and when they carry on a conversation there's usually a pause to let other people respond and they respond back.Any conduct which interrupts the general flow of gameplay in the game client, forum, or any other Ubisoft medium is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to, spamming, advertising or soliciting other products.
What the original poster is talking about it not that, and it is painfully obvious that this spam is not Asian users chatting normally. It is constant, never-ending walls of text spam posted by spam bots offering "carrying services" or cheating services. You can tell because there's always a QQ number at the end of the message. QQ is a Chinese chat app that can accept payments.
This is from today, less than half an hour ago:
It's been FOUR YEARS. No matter how many times I've reported these spammers through the in-game report function, it never, ever stops. It's even a problem in Division 2 and the reason I turned off global chat in Division 2.
Here's a search of r/thedivision showing that chat spam has been an issue since Division 1's launch.

So please don't act like this isn't an issue and hasn't been for years. Ubisoft just doesn't care. It's a failure of the development team that there's no timeout/cooldown or character limit for posting large amounts of text non-stop. This shouldn't even be possible.
