Let me guess: you are playing Conqueror, and you are throwing chain lights from the same side as the opener's.

You are wrong. I play as Valk so after the shield bash, I can do a light attack (3 directions), heavy attack (3 direction), sweep (predictable but fun), shield tackle (counterattack bait), GB (against dodgers but it is hard to time it because sometimes it goes sweep) ...

Then your habits are probably noticable. For example, you always go for a right light after a top light/forward jump light, or always go for top light after a side dodge light. Every hero has a very noticable pattern: for example, most Warmongers after any heavy go for a different side light into the bash mixup, and if it is repeated and repeated, countering it is very easy. And even more famous example is Berserker left light after the zone, 80% of them always does that (it is hyperarmored and 400ms, so why the hell not, right?). However, a good player will very quickly read this pattern and punish you for it- these people, however, are not cheaters or some kind of gods, and if you let them know you are using the full moveset, they won't counter everything.

Not that hard to believe 3 in a row if they are always light attacks. Some players just beg to be parried all the time with their habits.

Yeahhhhhh it's easy to consistently parry lights if you know beforehand where they are coming from. Lol

if you never feint then yes is possible, in my example against that JJ I was doing softfeints and hardfeints , nothing worked but raw gbs somewhat worked , sign of a custom script.

I get sometimes two deflects in a row, with my PK and zerk when people are not doing feints, so i guess it is possible to parry three times in a row here and there.

I just Bulwarked a poor soul to death from 50% hp, he tried to instantly light attack three times in a row after I flipped him as soon as he get up. I bulwarked all of them.

I don't think it's at all impossible. Sometimes I'll seriously just guess a side and I get a light parry. Happened when I went up against a Shaolin at some point in Dom. I had a feeling he'd go for a light after a heavy. I parried all of his chained lights. Literally 3 times in a row. First two times he chained to a side light. Last time I predicted on a whim he'd go for a top chained light, and I was right.

He rage quit after that. Feels bad I guess.

And that is why you use heavies. I fought not so long ago a guy who parried all lights. However, he ate a full neutral heavy chain after a few rounds. Going for a light parry is very risky.

I think it is my favourite part in the game: having the ability to predict and punish what is esentially the safe option on beginner level is a great skill and advantage, but if someone knows this about you, you can turn this strenght into a weakness. Some people who are good at parrying lights are actually quite stunned when they start to eat hits, and they get very confused (they usually adapt of course, but after that, throwing a light is far safer).

Exactly. Some people just always go for light parries, especially when fighting a hero who is known for light spam like Valkyrie.

If you are playing Valkyrie and get light parried a number of times in a row, my suggestion would be throw a raw heavy, or heavy feint to a different directed light, followed by a heavy soft feinted to shield bash, to free light, and then either sweep or side heavy, and let the heavy fly.

I can't tell you how many times the light -> heavy soft feint shield bash -> light -> side heavy gets the hit.
