How do we plan to play JD2021 on Xbox Series X without Kinect?

I am not gonna hold my smart phone in my hands. Using some straps to tighten it doesn't make too much sense either. PS5 has a new HD Camera. I haven't heard anything regarding XBOX Series X. Can you guys support Apple Watch Series 6? Thanks

    Hey,

It's a shame that Xbox haven't announced plans for a new camera or able to support the Kinect but it doesn't look like there's any plans for anything else other than our controller app for Smartphones. I can forward your suggestion on about the Apple watch for future updates or games, but obviously this close to release, I wouldn't think it would be likely for something else to be available for launch.

The game is still releasing on Xbox One, if you were keeping that to use with Kinect, but otherwise I can only suggest PS5 if you want a next gen console and a camera for Just Dance 2021.

Many thanks for the confirmation. I have no idea Playstation 4 has had a motion sensor camera before. Please develop the controller app for WatchOS 7 asap. We highly appreciate it.

We'll pass this feedback on to the relevant team. I'd also advise posting about it in the general discussion section of the JD2020 forum so the team can gauge the feedback of the community as a whole on this

I'm surprised that Ubisoft hasn't cleaned up the advertisements on the General forum yet...

One problem I imagine playing with a watch if it is attached to the wrist rather than holding a controller in the hand is that it would be unable to score intricate hand motions. In many dances, the hand moves relative to the wrist or there is some other motion that a hand controller can detect directly which may be lost with a wrist controller. Also, how securely does the watch adhere to the wrist? If there is even slight slipping, this would cause the watch to move slightly relative to the wrist, which may impact scoring. If the phone controller + app ordinarily detects and scores hand motion relative to the wrist when the coach does it, then it would be unfair to score a dancer with a watch exactly the same way. Perhaps the scoring could be revised to accommodate the watch, provided that it wouldn't lose important qualities of the dance that a hand controller or camera can detect. I will say that if a watch or other wrist controller could score the dances reasonably, it would be much more convenient to wear a watch than to hold a controller. I really do love dancing to Kinect though.

Does anyone know if dancing to the PS5 camera on Just Dance 2021 with the new PS5 will suffer the same problems that have plagued the PS4 camera in the past? The picture I saw looks like it has the same basic rectangular design, though perhaps it looks a little nicer, but the important thing is whether the camera + game will track better and score more reasonably than the PS4 camera has done in the past. If anybody dances with the PS5 camera and has danced to the PS4 camera in the past, I would be grateful if they were to post about their experience with it when the 2021 forum comes out. Or if anybody knows of any information out there describing any improvements, I would love to know of it.

Not at the moment I'm afraid. The old PS4 camera runs at 720p, the new one is 1080p and and includes new feature such as background removal, so hopefully it will be better at detecting movements for Just Dance too, but we'll have to wait and see players feedback on the new camera once it's released.
