    ADVICE on Shugo

Guys, can anybody give me some advise on fighting Shugos? I dont seem to be able to beat them with warden and really struggle with warmonger, with HL and to some extent BP, it is much easier. U cant trade with them, u cant turtle and most initiate the spine breaker, on yr face , so dodging becomes difficult. He just seems to have too much pressure, hyperarmour heavies and lights, strong guard break punish, a mariad amount of things he can do after feinting from an attack and a normal defense. I also dont understand why a hero would have a health regenerating attack outside of a feat. It becomes really tough in 1v1s.

Some tips and advice will be appreciated. Thanks

I write down some ideas, but some are easier said than done. I hate fighting them too.

    1. Most will predictably throw a light if you are in range. Either parry that, or space out of range and there is a small window to punish whiffs.

    2. They like to close range with a zone. That is an easy parry.

    3. Unless you are hit by a heavy/block a heavy, you can backwalk into roll his unblockable mixup. Even if you rolled, a missed hug is still punishable.

    4. Space them out. They have bad range (excluding the zone). Especially with Warden.

    5. Know risk vs reward. Don't be guardbroken with a wall nearby, or a ledge behind you.

    6. With bp, you can block a light and cancel into fullblock- guaranteed punish against a headbutt. Zone optionselect works very well against the charged heavy mixup. And of course, Shugo has a hard time punishing low recovery bashes.

normally with chars like warmomma I tend to interrupt them since she has a bash and good lights.Use bash spam against them , no shame in that.also time your lights so you can interrupt his own lights before the hiperarmour kicks in. PK and Orochi also can do this very well , the thing is warmomma has her bash, sometimes use it after your first light sometimes after the second consecutive light.
Everything else is back roll or back walking to force him to chase you and to be out of his range remember as Goat said, they will try a zone to shorten the distances so you must expect that.
Practice the blocking and parry for their charged heavies, practice the dodge on his demon embrace attempt in the arena. It is reactable, just focus in the animation, be familiar with the movement in where he do a fast "crouch", don´t depend on the orange marker. Throwing that against me is a bad idea but I needed to practice dodge on hug several hours to be almost inmune to that.
