The dark zone in Divison 1 is now full of cheaters with old and new accounts, aimbots, triggerbots, rpm boost, 10k firearms with 10k stamina builds and full resilience to all you throw at them.
100s of reports submitted and nothing is being done, the dark zone is no longer fun.
The lack of admin and cheat detection system have turned the dark zone PVP into a pathetic cheaters haven.
Well done Ubisoft for failing to admin your own servers.
I've lurked on Division 1/2 forums and read some threads about cheaters.
So this what happens with any topic about cheaters: Community Representative comes at some point, closes the thread and suggests to use the support website.
But is there any proof that they actually ban anyone for cheats? I've seen people saying they see cheaters with 700hrs play time even in Division 2!
Also i've been killed by players with Showstopper with 10000 rpm in Div1 and they had 4000-5000 commendation score.
Maybe we just wasting our time.
I have a recording of one of those 1000rpm showstoppers that on the surface appear to shoot one shot but slowed down it is many shots in ultra fast succession. I have given up sending video reports with solid proof when I still see the same players continuing to empty servers.
The whole point of Div1 for me was looting gear to play the end game but with so many cheaters in PVP it was all for nothing. I've wasted many weeks of my time, money and effort, In game reporting is pure decoration for effect.
>rules
nah, it's not about that
I'm not a coder so I can't give you the most accurate definition, but cheaters in Div1 use a third party program to modify the game's data while it is running.
>how this would effect me playing this game
f.e. cheaters here can kill you through walls with a showstopper/Hungry Hog with infinite ammo which fires 10000 rounds per minute without missing a single bullet.
In PVE impact is limited unless it takes away your enjoyment because someone is clearing missions unnaturally fast - I don't exactly want to downplay cheating in this context but at least here you have the option of dropping team and finding other people to play with and/or sometimes you will end up with people who know how to play the PVE at a very high level without cheats which will have the same effect.Originally Posted by Cutaway2019 Go to original post
In PVP however it means that you are at a huge disadvantage no matter the level of skill you bring to the table with players able to kill you far faster than you can possibly kill them back, etc. and with limited options to avoid it due to the nature of PVP in the game - no community moderated servers, etc.
Unfortunately there is limits to what can be done here - as they found with Valorant at best you can only prevent casual cheating and the private cheat authors are one step ahead even of ring0 anti-cheat - they simply have far more time, resources and skill to throw at the problem than a game developer/publisher or anti-cheat developer can throw at it sadly. So to combat it you either need an active, preferably real time, review program with the tools to record and spectate players and see their stats, etc. (although that is always going to have a degree of subjectivity) which needs quite a few people working on it or the ability for the community to run their own multiplayer instances that can be moderated by that community.
There are also things that can be done at a game play level to reduce the impact of cheating such as making larger scale team modes where the focus is on larger objectives rather than the killing of individual players and so that cheaters are exposed to a larger number of players to be reported and removed much more quickly than sporadic individual reports of cheating which actually a lot of the time are lower skill players not able to understand the skill ceiling of higher skilled players.
Last time I bothered with the DZ and PVP we found some guy (who was obviously bait but still) and when he was nearly dead his team mate fast travelled to him and dropped a support station and the two of them just stood there laughing at us for 30 seconds or so as they LOL tanked our 4 man squad (which was decently setup 6-piece Striker builds) before killing all of us instantly with seeming 1 shot each from The House. I don't bother with PVP or the DZ (which is a shame) any more.
EDIT: Seeing your other post - this is more a problem for the PC - though people do use exploits on the console version and/or to a more limited extent some cheating is possible - but it is much harder to hook the game and do some of the stuff that cheaters do on PC.
