Some spoilers*
I know if you dont kill him the first time he pops up again and you kill him then, but do you loose anything if you kill him the first time in the castle? I hate when games try to force how I should play a game and killing him seems more like the Viking way no matter what Prince piss pants suggests.
Yeah - you can:
1) kill him during the assault -> end of his encounter
2) let him live at the assault ->
....i) kill him at the wedding --> end of his encounter
....ii) let him live at the wedding --> we don't know if we see him again (but we might)
So we have at least three different outcomes, 2 of them who end in his dead.
This is just based on what we can see people have tried in various yt videos.
Of course the game is not out yet. The videos I'm referring to is the official material that some content creators were lucky enough to play in relation to the first Ubisoft Forward event.Originally Posted by Offworlder1 Go to original post
Quite a lot of spoilers in this thread.
I watched all 3 different outcomes and I must say that I'm a little disappointed about consequences. We have a lot of choices but at the end nothing change.
If we killed Rued in first or in second encounter, Oswald will be a little disappointed but nothing will changed. He will still become out friend.
Looks to me that with killing important NPC we just cut some content from the game and game become shorter. So, probably best choice is to be merciful![]()
I wasn't aware you could spare him a second time at the wedding, I might just have missed that.Originally Posted by Aloninor Go to original post
Yeah, you probably gain something when sparing him, like more XP or coin during second fight or something. I just dont like when games want to tell me how to play, like Karma points and stuf in other games. If im a f*kin Viking ... then im a F*kin Viking!Originally Posted by I.z.i. Go to original post
Well i guess it´s because the whole choice thing in odyssey didn´t work as well, because in the end no decision mattered anyway (you got skins for the ship) and based on that the DLC came into trouble because it had to basically consider all options of decisions made in the main game and basically just not adress them in any form so why having "big" decisions anyway? The way they go with for valhalla seems a better one to me, if you really want to git with the rpg route in terms of having choice/making decisions. The other option would be to properly go all the way and include scenarios for all kinds of decisions and combinations but for whatever reason that seems no option (controlling the narrative aligned with the lore, laziness, inexperience with such game types, whatever...)Originally Posted by I.z.i. Prince piss pants can kick his azz too at the wedding if you choose not to fight him then Oswald does instead and the so-called Prince piss pants cleans his clock ...... If Oswald fights him after beating him he bans from from his kingdom .... what happens after that we'll just have to wait and see ... It seems to me there are other consequences ..... If you fight and kill Rued then you get the chance to recruit Finnr however if you let Oswalt fight Rued then Finnr pledges his allegiance to Oswald instead
