I see the same people here still do not understand how input lag or frame rate works.

The next gen console despite having 60FPS will not necessarily make any noticeable changes to gameplay if other latency issues are not solved as well.

Controllers have lag, operating software has lag, TVs have lag unless they are literally as expensive as a brand new PC, wireless introduces more lag, some resolutions add lag, V-sync can add lag, etc.

All of this adds up to lag, 60FPS is probably 15-20% of the problem, another 20% is user error/bad setup, the other 60% is just out of your control completely. If people keep playing on TVs with wireless controllers and microsoft and ubisfot don't do what they can to minimize lag then you literally will not get any benefit from next gen for honour.

No matter what i say though a lot of people here easily fall for the placebo effect where they are convinced things are better when they are factually not because of something that has nothing to do with performance in the first place

Yeah it's arguing an uphill battle like most subjects people talk about.

I am excited to see the next gen version though if only to see if the input problems that come via hardware of the console itself still persist or not. Because it should at least soft confirm wether the problem for input delay being worse than normal (since consoles in general always have worse input delay compared to pc's for fighters,) was from the console itself or the games own coding. I'm hoping it's the former because the latter is significantly worse and means FH 2 would have to happen for the concept of fh to thrive for years to come.

I mean, I can partially agree.

I definitely think FPS has a noticeable effect.

30fps going to 60fps is going to make a world of difference. I would say framerates beyond that don't make much difference, for sure.

Now, it may not have the drastic effect some people think it will, but it makes enough difference that it can influence decisions made on 100ms increments.

The other thing, at least for Xbox, is the new controllers have been confirmed to have much better responsiveness and reduced input lag.

The input lag + framerates both improving will absolutely make a difference. At least, that's what I believe, 100%.

I definitely think that there are people who think that 60fps means they will go from playing poorly to playing stupendously well, and that's just not true, so I agree with you to that degree.

People have claimed For Honor was dead or would soon be abandoned every year.

This trend will most likely continue as soon as something else happens that someone disagrees with, which is every single change ever made to the game.

    Lol
