All while missing the enjoyment of defeating such hard content(some of which they openly admitted to exploiting in order to complete). And completely missing the opportunity to take on even MORE difficult content in order to show off their "M4D 5K177z".Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
Because the devs are being stupid about it, IMO. They've ALWAYS been stupid about it. They made a mistake in allowing recalibration of exotics. They could have released the raid exotics in Discovery mode, but at lower quality. With the god-rolls only being available in the harder setting. Problem solved. "Casuals" get access to the exotics, while "t3h h4rd(0rz" get to keep their status symbol.Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
But I suspect that with the game going the direction it is, and the new consoles, and the rumor going around that there's likely going to be a Division 3 at some point in the future, the devs will soon release the raid locked items into the pool. They're already being very generous with loot and acceding to player requests in other areas of the game in order to generate some badly needed good will.
And the REALLY need the players to be happy if they're going to ever release another game. So players will look back fondly instead of being salty. They did it in Div 1 before the launch of Div 2. They'll do it again.
That means if you need to last part (80-100) you have to complete the first 80 floors again if it didn't drop the first time?Originally Posted by xcel30 Go to original post
And thats what i don't get.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
They can now do all 100 floors on Legendary with 9 directives on (apparently) That sounds harder than doing a Raid to be honest.
Before they were restricted to 20 floors and 3 or 5 directive.
Not to sound too gross but they can now go balls deep into summit to their hearts content.
Summit is now with changes a highly replayable mode that'll last (now it might not be known as Kenly 2) i can log in do 20 floors on heroic/take a break play something else and then go back to it, i can choose to farm for something in there and then go somewhere else for another brand etc etc and Vice versa.
Before i went in once did a few heroic and left never been back (this will get me back playing it)
What we having coming was needed and a must.
Because for these types of people it's not about being proud of taking on hard content, or enjoying that accomplishment. It's about trying to place themselves above others with status symbols and gatekeeping. They want to be viewed as better than other players. And anyone else getting "their" items in a different manner threatens that.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
I've talked about this subject in a couple different forums. It's an attitude that's rampant in gaming, and sadly promoted and exploited by gaming companies. Why do you think we still have raid locked items when the entire power dynamic of Division 2 exotics and sets has nothing to do with direct power increases, but gameplay changing styles of play instead? It's not because the raid items are the best, it's because they're used as an exclusive carrot to promote "engagement" with content that wouldn't perform as well on its own merits. And to create FOMO. "If I don't have that raid item, I won't ever be as good as players who do"....which is reinforced by the cliques and gatekeeping.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to be looked up to in a videogame community. But it should be based on being a good player who promotes and helps the community, and legitimately completes difficult achievements....NOT because you have a super duper special shiny that no one else can have.
And these guys just don't understand that.
This is very good change...
BUT
I would like to suggest to add some kind of reward for the players who will finish this on different difficulties... It can be patch (for every difficulty and the lowest difficulty played during 100lvls counts) or now when we can change the look of our gear they can add somthing like custom chest skin for every difficulty.
and if you will be able to finish legendary all directives 100floors you will get some kind of glowing chest so you can flex how good you are.
nobody will be harmed... there will be option and top players will have their "good job son" trophy
I concur wholeheartedly, on these points.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
Mind you iv'e been vocal about keeping the chest in Legendary when summit first came out.
Most of this complaining smacks of the old school playground (i'm better than you nah nah nah) or iv'e got this and you haven't etc etc etc and it's rather disappointing to see this stuff thrown around.
I agree the companies promote it mercilessly to get people hooked, (the Got to have syndrome)
All i'm seeing with the update is an improved game mode most hated or a once and done mode now turning into a liked mode that is replayable.
Replayable content the one big thing almost everyone asked for by the way.
I get the feeling to some it's only replayable the way they say it is/should be and as long as it's their way. Reminds me of politicians on both the Rancid right and the Looney Left, doing it for themselves and no one else.
PS: I don't need patches to say iv'e completed this n that or silly pixelated Trophies, i play games for the experience i create not the (so called rewards for doing it)
Well i just don't like the direction this conversation is going because it's being extremely polarizing "everyone is an elitist scum that only wants to talk down others and don't actually want to play the game for fun" vs "what is the point of any reward for completing something challening if i can put zero effort and get the same thing".
I know my opinions grind a lot of people gears that's why i made sure make only an informative post, not a trashfire
