I know a lot of people are complaining about ridiculous NPC damage. I've personally experienced some fairly silly levels of accuracy out of NPCs, even at extreme ranges.
But there is a solution:
Technician
Memento Exotic Backpack
4 piece Foundry Bulwark(Mask, Gloves, Knees, Holster)
Brand chest of your favorite weapon type with Obliterate.
Crusader Shield / Artificer Hive. (Or Fixer Drone / Rez Hive if using MMR / LMG)
4 red, 2 Blue as a base, but adjust according to your preferred damage output. Try for the standard 60% CHC and as much CHD as you can manage.
Feels like overkill to me. But I've been playing with Perfect Glass canon, so my view is skewed. Basically after a few pickups of the memento tokens, you can just about facetank even with a crusader shield. Just don't stand in the middle of 5 enemies. Standard shield tactics: Keep them in front of you.
It honestly felt almost like cheating to me. In fact, the armor regen and shield toughness were so high, that I'm probably going to switch to a 5/1 or even 6 red version.
Anyway, this wasn't any kind of well-considered build. It's just something I wanted to try on the spur of the moment the second I got the backpack. I was not disappointed.
I can't even imagine the levels of facetank possible with a Bulwark Shield and Memento.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
Memento
4pc FB
D&H Chest with...uh.....Obliterate? Unbreakable? Honestly the FB chest would be best here, with Claws out in the holster, or maybe Punch drunk for the mask. But hey....raid locks because reasons. :/
I'm trying to think of where you'd actually even need that much tank. Legendary, probably. The main drawback would be kill speed.
EDIT: You know....if Deflector Shield actually worked, that would be a god-tier level build I think.
my FB build is a 5 red , 2 yellow , 2 blue with artificer , running the bullwark , chest with perfect headhunter and memento BP.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
im hitting for 10 million with the liberty...

Your edit line good thinking.Originally Posted by Sircowdog1 Go to original post
I tried the Memento on my current build but it just didn't seem right or wasn't as effective (not saying it's bad) but i'll have a rethink probably i need to do some tinkering.
Currently at 2 mil armour an artificer efficiency rate of under 5 secs (tier 6 but with pistol i go over that) 60,000 armour regen, i can survive in hell but still looking for the Liberty pistol to do the damage, still using the Kard (tried others but they are not great).
Got a couple of clips coming up with my finished Pure Tank build (one don't take notice of me killing) i was trying to test a new pistol but it was crap.
second clip i take an RPG straight full on
PS: Wish we had an aggro mechanic in this game when teaming up, i'll happily join a team and be the aggro merchant taking all the flak so the others can do their stuff.
Here are the two clips
First an RPG straight up. (my armour doesn't move) The shield absorbs everything.

Second This clip isn't about the killing(i had a crap gun equipped), it was about how much i could take from a roaming group of 4 an Elite patrol and i aggroe'd a CP4 so theirs came over (this is on Heroic.
Yeah it's 6 mins though

I'm starting to think tier6 Bulwark is overkill if you're running Artificer - at least it is on Heroic. Need to retest on Legendary this weekend [facetanked a Legendary Chunga with my FB build last weekend, thinking I could do it with Motherly Love instead and get some more DPS into the build]. Also plan to test with Memento once I unlock it.
If you like shooting and need survives, just go full Crit DPS, using Unbreakable & Clutch. Use a Striker Drone to pull aggro, Revive Hive for when you get too aggressive.
Personally i cannot stand all red/full DPS Crit builds they do nothing for me and i find them incredibly boring. i have a couple and they never get used.Originally Posted by LateNiteDelight Go to original post
Eh, I feel the same way about Skill builds - I only use them if a challenge calls for it or farming Legendary. That's why I enjoy this game - there are so many different ways to play it!Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
If I'm not shooting enemies, I'm bored. If enemies have too high of a TTK, I get annoyed [was a 'hardcore mode' FPS player, them got into R6S & Wildlands before Division - I still miss the deadliness of R6S & Wildlands from time to time]. So, I use the highest damage build I can make, which is 5+ WD cores builds most of the time.
