Because logic. There's a difference between someone literally being unable to do it, and someone just not wanting to do it.Originally Posted by III_Hammer_III Go to original post
The game doesn't stop a player from soloing legendary. There is nothing that prevents a person from doing it besides the willingness to put in the time and assemble the build and learn the skills.
No, not really. I just used myself as an example to illustrate my point. I've done similar challenges in other games. I'm a huge fan of hardcore modes in games like Diablo 2 and 3. I've done deathless runs in both Dark Souls 1 and 3. I have no doubt that I could do it if I decided to sit down and put in the time.Originally Posted by III_Hammer_III Go to original post
What I was illustrating was a situation where a person is capable, but simply doesn't CHOOSE to do it. I have no doubt that it's the same for people who decide not to raid, or decide not to go into the DZ. I don't think of myself as anything special. I'm sure there are a LOT of players at my level or higher who none-the-less choose not to tackle legendary solo.
It's not a matter of the game stopping people from playing these modes, but simply that they don't find that particular challenge enjoyable enough to invest the time and effort to do it. Also...the in-game rewards are kind of not worth the investment.
You made the claim that the game's primary focus was co-op. You back it up with evidence. It is not self-evident, since the game's mechanics support both solo and group play. And the fact of the matter is that only the raids literally prevent soloing.Originally Posted by III_Hammer_III Go to original post
Now I already agreed that soloing is generally more difficult. But I chalk that up to the incompetence of the devs rather than them actively choosing to focus on co-op gameplay. It's less them deciding to focus on co-op, and more them simply not fully considering the impact their sh*t game balance has on other modes of play.
Maybe that's splitting hairs, or semantics, but that's how I view it based on their history. So unless you have something concrete where the advertisements or official description of the game explicitly states "Co-Op focus", then I don't accept it.
Not a fan of magic hats and boots that allow wearer to absorb or deal more damage, but its a looter shooter
My preference is player skill not player ability to grind a creation that is unstoppable
A face tank should not move like an Olympic sprinter, same with sprinting with shield
Then there is the crazy damage offset, npc,s can 2 shot my gear from beyond line of sight. Even at full sprint putting as many vehicles as i can between us, pop pop your dead. Faster bullet sponges are not how you increase difficulty
Npc,s have almost zero reaction to being shot, unless you count shifting into high gear and dodging bullets.
Game play is mostly based on brute force vs tactics, simple race to deplete opponents armour
RNG only applies to player, npc can toss a grenade thru mailbox everytime. Forget cover they always get the impossible hit everytime
RNG does not apply to npc ability to hit you the player
Attack a level 4 CP heroic, npc,s will send wave after wave of reinforcements. You the player once your initial set is gone good luck
It could of been so much more
high speed bullet sponges
Then you don't make a statement of fact , you make a statement of opinion.Originally Posted by YodaMan 3D Go to original post
"On any higher difficulty, it's unplayable and unusable for a single player!" This statement is false.
I am stuck on Challenging because nothing is dropping that can make my build better to step up a level and if I do try to step up a level I get insta dead. I have 60% CHC and 153% CHD and this alone is not enough to solo anything higher difficulty than Challenging. Every game I have played has dropped better gear to help me step up to the next level and not drop gear suitable for the level I am on. This is backwards.
How is it false? I do not have the RNG to solo anything higher than challenging and If I step up a level my gear is useless and I die before a piece of gear drops. This makes the game unplayable for me at anything higher than challenging because the gear I need is refusing to drop.Originally Posted by KG_Xtorma Go to original post
I have some god rolled weapons but maybe 2 pieces of completely god rolled gear and 1 of those is a rainbow and the other is Armor which is helpful.
I went from Challenging to Heroic, with all the gear i have from challenging and i don't have a single maxed out build, infact my all red had less CHC and CHD as you do.Originally Posted by IgotNerfed Go to original post
To be honest you shouldn't be relying on all red CHC and CHD as a build to play Heroic from the start.
With only 726K armour and the power surge in NPC's from challenging to Heroic that 726K armour is worth jack, especially if you don't know how or don't realize how hard the difference is between the two difficulties.(don't even consider Glass Cannon) if you don't know how to play Heroic or can't survive on it. there are somewhat better talents without the negative 50%/60% Glass Cannon fires your way.
I went in with a my turret/Drone skill build just to get a feel of the difficulty and i found it hard to start with, i kept dropping back down to challenging until i realized i had to virtually change the way i play. Now i take it all on with 5 different builds from all red to hybrids to all blue to all yellow.
Taking a few deaths in a video game is nothing it's the practice and Knowing talent/perk combo's on builds that keeps you alive.
I'll even give you a tank /shield/build that renders you unkillable and should be easy enough to find put together. (in challenging)
Tech spec
Articifer hive/Bullwark shield
4 x bullwark (non raid pieces) blue
1 x Gila back pack or Bellstone back pack (with Safeguard)blue
1 x DH chest with Kinetic (momentum) Red
weapon slots primary/secondary anything you choose (not the focus of the build)
Side arm Main weapon
Either
The Liberty Exotic (i don't have)
A D50 with In-sync (a must have talent)
or A Kardi named Pistol from the Season track with In-Sync
Put Kinetic momentum/Safeguard and in-sync together and even a 14 million shield is unbreakable on Heroic.
Yes i know RNG is a factor within this game. But surely you must have a build or something to take you up a step.
My Turret Drone build is not maxed and it went from challenging to Heroic, (Spark/Tech support and in-sync on any weapon) makes the two so good as killing machines, infact it's 5 yellow 1 blue with a bit of Armour regen, but it can clear a Heroic CP4.
As a pure solo player i'll offer help to team up on Heroic if you want Platform depending (i'm on PS4) just to help get some better gear.
Thank you for the tips. I will have to farm for the 4 bulwark pieces (hopefully RNG is kind enough to drop good ones) I have the pistols and I think I have a few talents in my library that I can use. I'll take a look. I am on xbox. Thanks again for the tips.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post

I play solo on heroic every day :/ without issue.[/
What build do you have? Obviously this is the difference in Outcome for different player performance. Be useful fir peps to post their build when commenting on difficulty
[QUOTE=R1nKR_PS4;15182484]My main build? EP with sticky bomb fire and stinger hive (i'd loce to use airbust seeker but often i miss the target) Firewall (for 30% burn duration) solo heroic with 4 directives (don't like the no cooldown) since you have to move and collect these green cards.Originally Posted by TOKYO_ROGUE_YT Go to original post
Other build, full red with perfect glass canon and bloodsucker.
