Those are quite bold statements that I would like to see fact checked. Is it possible you misunderstood a community developer? RNG is RNG, it's the same for everyone, only the outcome can differ by nature of chance.Originally Posted by YodaMan 3D Go to original post
That does not mean that player A has a 5% chance for an item and player B has 4% chance. They both have 5% but player B might need some more time to acquire that piece.
So RNG makes the game "unplayable and unusable" for single players?Originally Posted by YodaMan 3D Go to original post
"Punished"... right... anyway, how does RNG "hate" you?RNG is not the same for all. Nor is it fair. Some players can get endless good drops all day for months. Meanwhile, some players don't ever see good items. Devs have stated this is by design. Some get rewarded and others get punished.
Bugs are not "how the game plays". A bug surely can make the game unplayable for some players (like getting the endless video loop), but that is a specific unintended condition, not "how the game plays",There have been bugs that deliver instant deaths for some and not for others. How many threads have been started with someone complaining about something wierd in the game and immediately have others claim that it's never happened to them?
That really depends on the individual and not your opinion and personal experiences,no?Most games I have played over the years, you get better gear to conquer the next level of difficulty, meanwhile TD series. You want better gear to play content you have just beaten. A little behind the 8 ball if you ask me.Especially when the design this game so players don't want to replay anything that they have beaten.
My wish is that I could toggle off all "reward" caches and random things that get dropped into my inventory without me picking them up during a mission. Sometimes I just want to run around and play without the penalty of having to do daily "inventory control" where I have to delete an endless pile of junk gear. When I want to hunt and farm something I'll toggle the "harvesting" back on.

This right here is the best explanation to RNG. It's really pretty simple to understand and I am not sure how so many seem to have trouble wrapping their head around it, seeming thinking the game "hates" them, whilst favoring others. It's not like anything is rigged. It's just chance -- like any other game of chance.Originally Posted by SevenNVD Go to original post
If RNG was just RNG, then all players would have their ups and downs. Yet you will find players, who have nothing but ups and you have players that have nothing but downs. You claim there is no problem, that it is not RNG at all. It's the chance? Even if you claim it's chance, there should also be ups and downs for all.Originally Posted by SevenNVD Go to original post
Considering the results. Some players no matter how long they play, no matter what they do, they will never see certain items. It's "Chance"! If it was just chance, then why are some players destined for always have poor chance. Simple statistics would argue there would be more randomness then that.Originally Posted by Deathlyhearts Go to original post
Honestly I’ve vented my frustration on forums before, I know how you feel, lots of games have an inate ability to frustrate, While I do wish they’d change something to make it more tolerable I also understand why they most likely won’t, and I won’t go into detail as there’s probably twenty posts a day about how to “fix” the game, my own frustration right now is with completing my first legendary mission, I can complete heroic just fine even solo, but legendary is a different game, lol, I started to get irritated getting an hrs into a mission and wiping, but after a few tries I realized even though I’ve got pretty good gear, very good in fact, there’s not much wiggle room at the top, that little bit more crit damage and headshot damage will end up making the difference, one or two bullets less makes more difference than I realized and bit more protection, so basically I had to calm myself and realize that I’ve hit a ceiling with my gear and now I’ve got to farm out a set for legendary, takes a few weeks probably but it’ll happen. Your likely in a similar position, seems each time you move up in difficulty you gotta start farming new sets with higher stat rolls, don’t let it get to you to bad farming it out can be fun you’ll get there.Originally Posted by Kingpin-VDF-CZ Go to original post
I play solo on Heroic with relative ease now but I do feel your frustration as a solo player. My biggest complaint is certain exotics and blueprints being locked behind multiplayer activities such as the Eagle Bearer and the Raid. Trying to force solo players into game modes they have no interest in playing seems to be a common trait in Ubisofts recent games though.
Having no checkpoint before the boss on Heroic missions makes life unnecessarily frustrating for solo players too and adds absolutely nothing to the gameplay for solo or group play. Being thrown back to the start of the mission isn't a challenge, it just makes me go play another game.
I really don't know what they expect a solo player to do when they come up against a tank whilst being flanked by THREE one-shotting Elite sniper warhounds.A situation I found myself in recently.
So, if it is not chance, what is it, then?Originally Posted by YodaMan 3D Go to original post
But again, TD is not a solo game. It is a co-op game that you can play solo. However, being able to play it solo does not mean you can complete every single activity on your own. And when you play solo, you have to accept that you will encounter situations where you are not going to be able to beat the content.Originally Posted by scottm295 Go to original post
As for the situation you mention above, personally, I always equip a skill that takes aggro from me and does damage (turret or drone). If I see too many dogs, I quickly change one skill to disrupt sticky. I am also a fan of retreating or not entering the room and fighting from outside/far away. That doesn't guarantee I am going to clear the content in front of me, but then again, I understand that I am playing a co-op game by myself.
