I paid $20 in Odyssey for a permanent boost to my XP.
That's not a lot of money but it's a sleazy way to charge an extra $20 for the game.
I would do the same for Valhalla but it's just a scumbag move on their part.
Leave XP at XP!! Don't try to disguise a stupid boost as a cool thing your doing for us when it's 100% scumbag.

I got the boosts as a gift and I found that you level up way too fast and it's hard to keep gear upgraded or find enough high level gear so you are either weak or constantly scrambling for more resources ...... It's probably more useful after you reach level 99 so you can get more ability points faster and no longer have to upgrade your gear
What I thought was the real ripoff was the resource pack for $20 ..... By the time you reach level 20 you can get more resources than that just by raiding a fort
They really should just stick to the cosmetic upgrades especially if they include a system like Sargon where you can win pieces for free by doing quests .....I don't really care about the XP and Drachmae boosts since you don't really need them and if people want to waste their money on them then that's their business .... It's not like multiplayer where you have to pay to win or be competitive
Yes, and it's disgraceful - a game outright admitting that it's a waste of time and charging you more not to play it.Originally Posted by SofaJockey Go to original post
I think Black Flag was the first game in the series to be so aggressively built from the ground up with microtransactions in mind and it really put a downer at times on an otherwise great game.
@OP. if it makes you mad, don't purchase the XP boosters. Simple. If you can't enjoy a game without it then that game is not for you.

I never said I didn't enjoy the game. If you had checked my posts on it you'll see that I've been playing since day one and have nothing but fun with it.
I don't like the XP boost. I don't have to like it, and you shouldn't have a problem with me not liking it. Whether I decide to use it or not has no effect on how I feel about it.

Oh but it does. Because when you use xp boosters you are basically saying that the game's progression is a chore to get through to the point that you'd pay extra to skip content.Originally Posted by Acid_Mars Go to original post
I'm guessing you are just trolling.
Why would it be sleezy of them? They tell you what it is, and you choose to purchase it? They are not forcing you to buy something that it's not right?
I never understood when I first saw these boost in the earlier games who would want to buy this?! First you buy a AAA title game and then you also buy a boost to not have to play it so much? Isn't it just cheaper to not buy the game at all, or pay someone else to play it for you?
Some people just want to get through the "main" quest in 30 - 40 hours and move on to the next game and complain if it takes longer because to them it's holding them back from play the next game of the week ...... Frankly I don't understand it but I do remember people complaining about it when the game was barely a month old ..... I played the Outer Worlds shortly after it released and it barely took 30 hours and if I hadn't got it on Xbox Game Pass for PC and had to pay full price I'd feel like I got ripped off ..... There was some replayability to it but I didn't find it compelling enough that I wanted to play it again right away ..... I saw a video of someone who did a speed run and got through the game in 12 minutes, of course he skipped a lot of content but he did get to the end and beat the game ..... You never see anyone doing a speed run of an AC game
