The problem with these characters I feel like is that almost every other character pretty much has something they don't. Which is, some form of 50/50 or unblockable or something that forces players into having to do something or make a read. If you're up against someone who can block lights and calls out your feints, and you're a character with no unblockable or cc like a headbutt or a shield bash? It's hard. It means that you don't really have any other options unless you're extremely skilled fundamentally to overcome the advantage that they have over you.
I understand that there are some characters that must have something taken away in order to balance the things that they DO have over the other characters. Feel free to add some more suggestions here, I don't know if these things have already been suggested or spoken about but I wanted to type this out just in case anyways.
Shaolin:
- What if like Highlander, Qi stance could be moved into without the need to land a light? That's half the Shaolin's kit locked away, sure you can walk away and get into it via hitting thin air, but I feel like this would be a nice addition.
- What if the side dodge attack, as well as the Qi stance light and heavy attacks could continue the attack chain? It feels like a bummer having to start the attacking pressure all over again once one of them lands.
Aramusha:
- Not actually sure since I'm not an Aramusha player. I feel like a kick wouldn't go amiss maybe? Why is it only accessible via blade blockade? Give this character something he can use neutrally.
Shinobi:
- On his double dash, doesn't really have a good amount of options. It would be great if you could have enough time to comfortably guardbreak someone if you wanted to do a read. Or if the combos that followed didn't feel so slow and pointless afterwards.
- Just needs some kind of unblockable that can be accessed without leaving yourself vulnerable on a dash.
" Just needs some kind of unblockable that can be accessed without leaving yourself vulnerable on a dash." in fact that same kind of thing can be said for the rest of these characters. Unless you're playing Dominion, some of these characters are actually just not viable at all. Which is a shame because they have a lot of potential. What all characters in my opinion need on this game is just something that puts other players under pressure. I think the game has moved on from unblockables and CC only being a privileged thing for certain characters. Everyone needs one now, as well as quality of life features like combo continuity and form/stance accessibility. The ones that don't have them kinda suffer.
Shinobi is the worst character out of all of them. he has almost no chain pressure outside of his kick. his dibble doge can easily be punished by spamming lights.his ranged heavys are a joke except for highlander sometimes. his: week slow heavies, laughable health pool, reflex guard, and lack of a safe opiner make him VERY hard to play. he has good stamina damage but his lack of an unblockable makes it hard to score non-raneged GB's and his kick does not knock over out of stamina opponents, so shinobi has almost no out of stamina pressure. his deflects and kick mix are weeker now because of the range heavy nerf. his only good move is sickle rain but its hard to land against good players. out of the entire cast, he needs the most attention IMO.
Zhanhu became really good after the ccu there are somethings that I would like for them to get looked at but in all honesty, he isn't in dire need of help unlike heroes like Shinobi, PK, Aramusha, Nuxia, etc but I started to main him an there are a couple of things that could get some work
His sidestep: it's basically one of the worse ones is GB vulnerable and only does 9 damage and since it's so fast you have no I-frames here are some changes/fixes that could improve that
1.-raise his damage from 9 to 11-12
2.-make it a tad bit longer/slower
3.-get rid of the GB vulnerability
4.-make it so you cant chain them one after the other unless its a top one
basically, I just want it to work as a proper sidestep in any other aspect Zhanhu is very strong and doesn't need help maybe the hitbox from his right unblockable heavy but that is the least of my worries
Spot on mate. I know there's a lot of calculations to be made and numbers to be thought about in order for powerful moves like CC or unblockables to be added. But I feel like there really needs to be some kind of a move on as it's clear what makes heroes flop now and what makes them actually viable. Even Warlord which is a pretty good character but arguably one of the most simplistic ones there are. Just a simple headbutt. Also @oppositecoin01 that's pretty true for Zhanhu. He doesn't have any of the things I've mentioned like a headbutt or some kind of easy access unblockable/cc. But he is very fast and his unblockable lights and stuff can make him formidable. Definitely still needs a little bit of work. I can see we're getting there, but part of me wonders why it's taking this long? Remember how long it took for Centurion to become viable in things other than dominion? Like, why, when it was clear why he wasn't good?
@aaboopeek I don't know I would think that making small changes every so often would be better for the game. There are a bunch of heroes that need very small changes rather than a whole rework but those don't get looked at enough I know that some heroes need more attention than others but things like damage, speed of attacks, recoveries, etc would be really easy to change on a whim but they don't.
so to be fully honest i fight bots and aramusha is my highest death like if you could see who kills you the most he would be at the top and im speaking like event bots and level 2 bots so the reason i feel he be op are as follows
1.all guard [yes i understand they dont have a shield bearer]
2.his attack speed included with unblockable make him annoying as he can change directions so ******g quickly its annoying
3.anything he does comboed into a guard break is op because of the stun timer hence the reason i suggested to remove this as it would make combat much more fluent and less ganky or even removing light attack damage or stagger
idk why i keep seeing high ranked players complain about him as to me it just seems that theres many other hero's that could use a buff over aramusha
in my eyes with the amount of **** he has it would be to be honest really ******ed to give him anything more and to me you all seem abit bia's
like you only want the buff to him because you play him and that you really aint great with him if you want a buff as he is litteraly the most powerfull hero in my eyes besides someone like tub tub or even highlander
@hunterthewolf
I dont see how Aramusha is a problem I can understand how he can be annoying but man you really seem to have it out for him he is not a strong hero his combos are fast but predictable, his allbock is probably the worst one in the game sure it activates quickly (100 mls) but it guarantees almost nothing unlike the other allblocks they miss it so often and the recovery is so bad that people can borderline punish it on reaction and in all honesty, there are so many heroes that are a lot stronger I mean just look at berserker his combos are basically what Aramusha has but with hyper armor apart from the fact that I think aramusha actually has a pattern to his soft faints. I have the feeling that you try to parry everything he throws and thats why you always fall for it sometimes just block or doge the thing I do is block the side he is going to throw the heavy then doge anyways or block the side I think he is going to throw the soft faint and doge anyways or I don't know just use a hero with a sidestep I have never someone having this much trouble with Aramusha
