OMG...even following patch 1.95 for the PS4....your servers CANNOT handle peak playtime server load! I mean, NOT AT ALL.
Yesterday evening 9/30/2020, my squad hopped on to play a lot earlier than normal; we normally start playing around 9:30 PM ET. However, we had the rare opportunity to instead get on around 6:30 PM ET...and the game played gloriously well. But then, around 9:30 PM ET or shortly thereafter, it went to absolute POO. It was happening to the whole squad. Take a look at the clip below I captured of my teammate, running in place. Do you know what that type of server performance does to GUNFIGHTS?!? We're not talking millisecond peaker's advantage here. We're talking a full 3 seconds or more peaker's advantage, consistently. On top of that "Connection Failure" and "Matchmaking Error" messages were rampant. This crap was consistent for the next 2 hours (and then we got offline). Your servers CANNOT handle the load. You need a new provider. You need to drop Microsoft and rent your boxes from somebody else.

On PC 90% of the time i have the red/yellow connection symbol in the top right of my screen
Shooting a static drone, it doenst pop for a full second AFTER the shot
Everyone in the math confirms they have the same issue as well, so its clearly the servers
We are in some serious need of some network-monitoring here. There's no way this kind of performance doesn't show up in reports for network administrators. The majority of people work, or go to school...they eat dinner, etc...and then they get online in the evenings to play. The servers need to be able to support that bandwidth....and clearly right now they are nowhere close to being able to handle the load.
Re-tested the evening of 10/1/2020. Same experience. Somewhere between 9:00 PM ET and 9:30 PM ET on the EUS servers for console (PS4), server performance degrades considerably. Prior to that, the game plays well. After that, it's absolutely terrible. Never play Ranked late in the evening. In fact, don't play the game at all after 9:00 PM, or you'll end up going to bed angry after getting screwed over.
I admit, I haven't noticed that the game is playing any better, or worse, in terms of network performance than it usually does. I must be one of the players who has gotten so used to Siege's buggy, laggy performance that I just don't notice it anymore. I've also gotten used to lots of big talk from UBI about fixing these long-standing issues, bugs, glitches and so on. And nothing being done about it. With the game now over 5 years old, UBI seems to have made a business decision that it's not worth doing any real work to maintain Siege. They add content now and again, but they've farmed out the content creation to other people, and it requires no genuine effort from UBI to fold it into the game periodically.
Fixing the netcode so it performs better? That would be a mammoth task which would require UBI and their programmers tear apart the game code from top to bottom, and probably shut down all servers indefinitely while they test it. They're NOT going to do that for a game that's this far into it's life cycle.
I think for me, I just thought it was "normally" bad performance. But then I had the rare opportunity to play MP much earlier in the evening, and it was a completely different experience than what I was used to. With that I got a new frame of reference and comparison. It might not necessarily be a netcode issue on the game side. I think it's more of an issue with the servers not being able to handle the load during peak times. They need server upgrades....big time.Originally Posted by Slyrr7 Go to original post
Hey Coop, thanks for checking in. No, sadly things aren't better. The server performance (for our whole team, not just my household), degrades to crap after 9:00 PM ET every night. Before that, it's great. But after that...well....just take a look at this short clip. Can you imagine what this does to gunfights?!?Originally Posted by WBBCoop Go to original post

Hey everyone! I'm extremely sorry to hear about the problems you all have been experiencing in Rainbow Six Siege as of late. I fully understand how frustrating this must be to encounter so often, considering it severely impacts your gaming experience. That being said, I would be more than happy to gather some information to get this reported. What general region or area are you all located? Who is your internet service provider?
Also, thank you croken717 for taking the time to write this post and bring this to our attention!
