Well I did more testing with this weapon anyway on my HF build and honestly, even though I negated the bleed, it just can't get the DPS that pretty much any other SMG in the game gets. So Backfire really is just a wall trophy. That's all it is. If you want to actually melt something, go Chatterbox, then switch out those bleed mods for CHD and you are set. Just toss this weapon in the stash as DPS-wise it is completely useless for any content that matters. And with Chatterbox, you'll only need to reload once every floor. Fun times.
EDIT: Wanted to toss in here - credit goes to this video for giving me the idea to pull Chatterbox out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAlUdfGg5JM I actually completely forgot about that SMG being in my stash until I stumbled on this video. And since it's a weapon pretty much everyone has very easy access to (very small project for assembling in the LZ with no lockouts or endgame content involved), it makes this an easy build to do.
Weapon sway and "jerky" movements can easily induce motion sickness in FPS. I also suffer and can only play a FPS if it is possible to turn off weapon sway, fortunately nowadays most developers are aware of this and include the option.Originally Posted by Cadillac-Jack Go to original post
OP: If this weapon's visual effects induce sickness or other visual/sensory disturbances I would STRONGLY advise against using it. Repeated short term induced visual disturbances can provoke latent disorders and may be harmful in the long term. I have not tested this weapon myself yet (but I will), if it involves flashing/pulsating effects I would be surprised that this got past QC.
Share the build. Cause this weapon is eating dust in my stash for now.Originally Posted by Fazemlidaiya Go to original post
there's quite a few on ytube for that weapon.Originally Posted by WrecK3rr Go to original post
I have a Dual SMG ninja knee pad build with it and i get 0 bleed because of the knee pads automatically reloading my weapons.
I hung the backfire up and just play with safety distance , smg . The biggest point here is that they have an idea , they use it , but they never test it properly if at all?..
The devs need to think that they have players sitting playing their games for hours if not days on end , and some of this effects are bad , They may not show when playing the game but may show later in life ?
There are times when playing i think we must be playing on a world of jelly , the world wobbles with every explosion. I always thought game effects was to make it feel more realistic , but this game they are in to confuse you for a second or to so you get spammed and shot . they are no more than cheap tricks to try and add difficulty to the game..
You guys know what optional means, right? Right? It's not like anyone is pointing a gun to your head and forcing you to use that weapon. Jeez. If you don't like it, don't use it. It's a gimmick weapon that requires you to change your build and play style around it. Some people like that. If you don't, that's perfectly fine. No, they won't change it and they shouldn't, stop being special and realize already that just because you don't like something it doesn't mean it should be changed around your preference.
I think OP was concerned with the bleed screen, and how it was making him feel unwell, not the bleed effect on the character's armour. He didn't ask them to change the gimmick.Originally Posted by Deathlyhearts Go to original post
Yeah I know! However the thing is the weapon was designed with that drawback in mind to even things out for it's pretty strong talent. That bleed effect is the main drawback. If it was just the damage to the armor that would be so easily neglected that it wouldn't be considered a drawback at all imo. The shaking itself occurs in the last 2-3 seconds of the bleed, which isn't all that bad and there is a way to completely neglect the effect if you build around the SMG. The options are there, it's up to the players to decide if the weapon is worth all the hassle or not.Originally Posted by CoOp_Gordon Go to original post
