Yeah I deactivated this event. Not fun and nothing to gain from it but an exotic that I already have atleast 2 of and a BP Trophy I will never use.

My goodness, who thought that would be fun?

At least with some of the previous unpopular GE mechanics, there was an upside. For example, with "guardians" you had to deal with tracking down the guardian without getting killed by the immune NPCs -- and that guardian was often hiding -- but you at least got a very cool rate of fire buff. But once you got good at it, you could run missions even faster with the guardian thing turned on.

Yes, I know there is a damage buff, but it doesn't seem that significant.

This just seems like a global event dreamed up to force us to explore the stupid shields.
I find it really interesing how varied the opinions are on these global events. I actually can't stand the guardian event. While I enjoyed the increased rate of fire, I hated tracking down the last damned guardian! Crazy bomb huggers are coming at me and are imune to damage. A massive immune heavy is spamming me with grenades or mowing me down with a mini gun... ugh! No thanks!

For this event, I equipped 4 pieces of Hunter's Fury, 1 piece Badger Tough, Claws Out holster (+900% mele damage), an Aug SMG and Sweet Dreams. It was the first time I actually had fun with a global event. I was running around with a glowing arm and moving cover to cover and then jump out and melee hit somebody. It was great. No hiding enemies to track down. No immune enemies.

*sigh* I just noticed the grammatical error in the poll question "too slow" instead of "too slowly"

Yeah, tracking down a second Guardian in the open world was a pain sometimes, but the buff was well worth it. Fortunately, it sounds like they've made some changes to avoid that problem (as in the buff can damage protected enemies, and you can keep the buff going with another kill).

I used the Liquid Engineer backpack in place of the Badger Tough, and it works really well solo.

It turns out, for me the event was bugged the night before I made my comment. Yes, the event was active, but now I can see clearly it wasn't working for not once did I get the buff that comes from transferring the "exposure" to the NPCs. Playing again last night, I find it works as expected and the buff is actually quite powerful.

Still, not my favorite event, but not an absolutely horrible experience either.

Seems fine to me. Just need to make sure you're triggering agro and then sprint in a circle for about 5 seconds.
