The Summit seems to have stirred up conversations again surrounding TTK as far as PvE goes. PvP this post is not for you guys.
In the Division 1 I enjoyed being able to build truly "tanky" loadouts. I could sit within a healer box and enemies couldn't take 2 of my armor bars away.
In Division 2, armor and Agent survivability in combat is seemingly non existent. So i'm curious what the player base think is the appropriate way to "die" in the Division series.
As I said at the beginning, I enjoyed being a tank. I am the super hero of this story and as the game progresses I should feel stronger and stronger and stronger as my gear and fighting tactics change in order to adapt to the present combat situation.
Division 2 i'm tissue paper; I dont prefer it. Ive read lots of interesting comments from fellow gamers as to how we got to this point but since I want to see this Franchise keep going i'd like to see a return to Division 1 style armor and survivability stats. Perhaps I can be sold how Division 2 is better than Division in regards to how much more damage NPCs do?
I dont have a problem with dying in the game, players make mistakes and a well programmed AI should be able to take down inexperienced fighters. But the quickness and the lack of 'skill' that NPCs are able to kill me in this game is just not fun, not real etc. A single one of my bullets might account for a minimum of 90k damage, however one of their bullets eliminates all my armor and 25% of my health. This mechanic is extremely poorly written and needs a major overhaul for the next installment in my opinion.
What do you all think?
It was actually one of my biggest issues after WoNY came out and all of a sudden the game had changed, I went from being able to play a fair game of duck dodge, position and shoot with the enemies, where after WoNY the only build i can comfortably solo with is a Skill build or Hybrid.
I largely agree, and man was it noticeable when WoNY dropped. I get that game wants to try to keep you in cover but it still seems like armor shreds pretty quickly
I’ve always felt like I have to give up too much damage to try to up survivability by a decent amount. It’s better than it used to me, but there is still a bit too much of a trade off for my taste. I know they were trying to avoid some of the “Jack of all trades” builds from Division 1, but in my opinion they went a little too far.
And the health stat just seems useless. I feel like once my armor is gone I’m down in 3 shots at most regardless of the number.
...and too make it worse all the new GS and weapons are aimed at run n gun style tactics. This does nothing to enhance the players ability adopt a more in your face stle of game play, much of this was raised as concerns in PTS but has been ignored with the Ridgeways Chestpiece easily the most useless exotic and arguably now one of the hardest to obtain.
From my testing I wouldn't use any of the new Gear sets or weapons in anything above Challenging.
IMO they dont need to keep buffing and nerfing gear to achieve a false sense of balance they need to address the the core of what is wrong in the game first place and that is TTK for both us and NPCs
The game is now the laughing stock of looter shooters, TU 11 has sunk this game to an time low and is in a worse state than D1 ever got to.
But hey, Massive said they learnt from their mistakes and listened......hmmmm.
I returned to the game after a few months break. I was running a build with perfect glass cannon on my chest and swapped it out for something else.
I didn’t notice a difference between the chest piece where I take 60% more damage and fish out 30% more and the one that doesn’t not have that perk. I go down really quick either way. I know playing all red will make me squishy but the degree of it not mattering is a problem.
TTK is a huge problem and I believe it stems from this game trying to compete with Destiny by adding MMO content like raids. They really should have focused on repeatable content from the beginning.

I mean its more realistic that you cant get shot very much without dying, but Imo it should go both ways, If they can one-shot me, I should be able to one-shot them.
