Personally, I find Directives as a whole to be absolute cheese and never use them if I can help it. That they're mandatory for some sections of the Summit is an absolute turn-off for me. Fortunately, I don't give a rat's *** about the Exotic loot reward, so I can just replay the floors I do like. I don't believe Directives really add "challenge" so much as they just add tedium. Personally, I feel Massive should have gone with the Underground approach - let us pick our own Directives and simply scale rewards accordingly.

Unless you're using a sniper turret, then a the hive will probably give better ammo efficiency.
My assault turret has never burnt out before a room has been cleared, but even if it did I have feedback loop so it's ready to go right away again. Combined with the Artificer Hive, it takes an unbelievable amount of fire power to kill it, White Tusk heavies can't even win going head on with it. Given WT posses EMP rounds on the 2nd tier Legendary floors at times, I avoid using the drone as it gets destroyed too quickly.

But, and there's always a but! I don't want to whinge for the sake of it and I would rather be playing than here typing this!

Having made it to floor 100 twice, first time it took us so long to get there because of the restricted ammo directive that meant having to repetitively run back a long distance to get ammo around 400 -500 rounds to fight with, and is not enough, some of the enemies take several clips worth of bullets to kill even if we hit their weakpoints even if we had normal capacity mags, and the enemies do not consistently drop enough ammo with pistol headshots and when they do I do not want to be running into a hail of bullets just to get a few rounds, strategically its suicide, nor does my build generate ammo, other team members do but 5% is not enough. So anyway, this directive is restrictive to such a point it extended our ascent to floor 100 that we reached it at around 3am and everybody having work in the morning logged out hoping there was a save point and we could select it from the lift the next time, but that wasn't to be, it does have floor 100 on the lift buttons - so, why no save point?

So the Next time we got to 100 at around 2:30pm last night(we have to start late because team members work commitments) and we get to a certain point after beating the first room and facing the Hunters there was yet another unscheduled server reset, for some of our team it was announced on their screen, for others it wasn't so we wrongly presumed they were on other servers and we could rejoin them and continue our boss fight, but it kicked us all out of the game and on return placed us in the lobby!!! Why not back from where we came from? This time we started at 91 with no reduced ammo directive, but it gave us that directive at floor 93 and it stayed with us like a turd to a blanket and slowed us down yet again, meaning we got to floor 100 too late to have a reasonable time to complete.

This reduced ammo directive is the pits, how can you realistically think we can fight such high level Legendary enemies with no ammo, why do you think it's fair to players to make the keep running back to get ammo, this is just not on, it is not fair and it is turning the game into a bore fest of running for ammo. It's become a running for ammo game, because that directive hangs around like a bad fart in a lift!!

Now what happens when I join random's at floor 91 - if that ammo directive is present - is the kill yourself with grenades and try again session begins until that directive changes, but like the bad fart the ammo directive is ever present, so we keep going until we run out of grenades, some return to the lobby repetitively. until they get rid of the ammo directive, and progress and at 93 the ammo directive like a fly to a turd it returns with all its mates, special ammo that takes your skill away and Fog of War so you can't see where those enemies are in the first place that you cannot shoot because you have no bullets and you can't skill kill because you have had your skills taken away, this is pathetic. I have even been asked to change my build to a skill build to continue, needless to say we we wiped pretty quickly at the enemies are obviously programmed to attack teams all spec'ed for skill as they have no real reply against rushing aggressive enemies when they don't have any bullets to fight with and their skills have been taken away! Just what are you game designers on, or are you all just sadistic griefers and full of malice??

This reduced ammo directive needs changing or removing altogether preferably, come up with some other directives, make some positive, some negative! And bring back division 1 'Perks' and let us have the support station also! Make the game fun, but tough, not cruel and an exercise in futility!!

And before I'm done moaning, the drop rate (20%) for the exotic component for the vest is an absolute laugh! Can you check your calculations on that one because its behaving more like a 5% drop rate!
I agree with you, it doesn't make it hard it makes it annoying and another thing frustrating you in this game. The devs and some people forget the games are supposed to be enjoyable. If you like making things hard on yourself you can do that but other people can have the choice not to. And no not playing content is not an option when you paid for the game. And by the way I've beat the summit in full several times. I got the chest on the second clear. And I didn't cheese my way through with a turret or artiHive I also didn't kill myself to reroll the directives. So all these people telling you to do these things don't actually run the directive apparently so don't even worry about what they say

    @ Solkard

You need to actually think about what you are saying before you say anything.

Firstly it is my OP comment about my experience and if you cannot accept that then why do you troll these forums?? Secondly you know nothing about me, nothing about my character, my builds, equipment or any other aspect of my game! You are a being factious for the sake of it and you are coming across as a know it all.

When I join a team of random's through the matchmaking and they start killing themselves with grenades to get the directives changed I just follow along, and if another team returns to the lobby repetitively we'll do that also to a point, I understand their pain and frustration, yes there are several other ways to kill our own characters in this game, but you don't need to point it out as it is a very basic gaming concept and you are actually missing the point entirely and just being pedantic,

I only join random's right now to farm the Legendary component for the vest as my clan are active in the evening mostly and why time is important as some work late, some have to get up early and others have families to feed and put to bed, so that leaves very little time and why this reduced ammo directive is unfair and unwanted! Do you understand that, I'm trying not to offend you here, but.....!

The main issue here is not the antics to get the directives changed once we exit the lift it is that players are behaving like this because they hate the reduced ammo directive and are avoiding it at all costs and wasting time, not because it is difficult, but because it is so very negative and a total waste of time having to keep running back for ammo and this is not a challenge it is a time consuming and needless exercise that is unreasonably extending the time it takes to reach floor 100 either running back all the time or trying to wear the enemies down with skills, this is not good for people who work, have families and are otherwise time constrained like racing to get it completed before an unscheduled server reset and there have been a few of them lately! If you have reached floor 100 you would understand and not need to spout off about this point unless you have an alternate reason? I don't even think you have made it to floor 100 yet, here is a post you made on another thread 'Does going into the social menu and turning on matchmaking not work on floor 100?' This statement from you indicates you don't know what you are talking about so what give you the right to spout off over my post? It seems you are a bit of a loner and not even in a clan what with this post you made on an earlier thread 'I assume that's why people join clans, for the nepotism'. and here is the killer line from a post you made 3 days ago 'I've only done 1-50 and save for the directives in the later stages, it's been pretty repetitive and meh.'!

Secondly the part you need to actually think about is that the reduced ammo directive roughly cuts the players ammo capacity in half so for example my primary weapon normally holds just short of 1000 rounds and is reduced to around 500 in a full mag through and the reduced ammo directive and the gunner ammo generating talent gives 10% of total ammo capacity every minute, so for that primary weapon e.g an assault rifle will generate around 50 bullets every minute because the mag has been reduced and any team member get half of that, so for my AR that fires at 750 RPM will fire 50 rounds in approximately 3 seconds, so the Gunner ammo generator will allow a 3 second burst of my weapon once per minute, and you seem to think completing 10 levels of the summit on Legendary using this 50 bullets a minute instead of running back repetitively is a good talent? Not even with a sniper would it be acceptable and even if possible it would take too long and what are you going to do against a Drone attack with a sniper? lol! And that brings us back to the original argument that the ammo directive unreasonably extends the time it takes to get to floor 100, why can't you accept that, why are you so condescending, what's that all about, do you have issues??

Thirdly, the way you are talking about flushing enemies out of cover and letting the turret to get shots on target that is ok for mopping up after you have dispatched the heavies and the mech, but what are you using to take down the heavy tanks with their bleed hives spraying through walls, they'll stomp the turret unless placed completely out of their way or they'll use cover to target you until the turret is in cool-down and as for the drones the red bars will just shoot them in a few seconds, I have this type of build so don't try to teach granny to suck eggs will you.

And using the Hive will also do some damage same for all the other skills, but not enough for all the hoards that spawn and rush, these types of builds are support builds and somewhere in the equation if you do not have ammo you will not progress too quick, which is the point! One you cannot seem to accept,
