After nearly two years of development, "Anchor Ilse" * has just been published as of 23rd September 2020.
Originally under the name "Anvil Island", and given a rough, unpolished publish under the title "Anvil_Explore_V2" as part of Far Cry Maps (YouTube Channel) Open World Competition. "Anchor Ilse" is a Large scale, Battle royale style map that can be mapped into three distinct areas; The Southern Town, the Western Fort and the Northern Mountain. Each area not only provides different advantages and disadvantages, they also provide different tactical gameplay options for players to exploit. That, added with numerous vehicles makes for more interesting gameplay opportunities.
Though originally this map was cancelled in favor of the development of Trainyard, The announcement on Far Cry maps to produce an open world map stirred me on to complete the incomplete anvil. However, due to the constraints of time management, which landed me publishing the incomplete version of the map at 5am in the morning of submission day. Not only that, but the realization that the map was for single player content and not multiplayer content, which in turn meant that the map never quite got the recognition it deserved, considering it was two years in the making.
Hence why, in my own lackful spare time, I optimized and expanded upon the scope of Anvil Island. Not just giving it an artistical overhaul, but also creating new gameplay opportunities for the end player. I included specific objects in the open world competition map (Anchor Ilse – Detour) that would link directly to the multiplayer map (Anchor Ilse), the use of colors was also more pronounced in ‘Detour’.
Though on the surface it doesn't have rocket launchers or overpowered weapons, they are four powerful weaponry (some of the most powerful in the game). They Include the MBP. 50, M249, RAT4 and Nerve Reaper. They are just on different parts of the map. I did include more ammo, More Explosive Grenades and Smoke grenades to help create a more exciting map. I do stress though that this is meant for a full lobby and not for 2 or three people.
On that note, my last advice is this - find the red flares… that's all...

It would be great to see what impressions people have on this map, now knowing what it was before.
* P.S. I might of made a slight error in the name of the map, its supposed to be ‘Isle’, NOT ‘Ilse’. Thankfully it says the correct spelling in the image preview for both maps.![]()
