    Game never starts

    Folks,

    I just got Far Cry 5 in the sale.

    I am trying to install it on my Alienware laptop (old 17 R3) which meets the minimum spec and plays games well.

    I get to the flag banner screen and it goes through the direct x stuff etc.. then just sits at the spinning blue circle...

    Removed
    re installed
    deleted cache
    rebooted...

    No idea what to do now.....

    Anybody?, I know its old now.

    Hey there.

    I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with crashes at the moment.

    The first thing I would suggest is to attempt each step suggested here. These steps are known to resolve most of the common causes of crashing/freezing.

    if after doing so you're still experiencing issues I'd then recommend opening a support case. You can reach us either through the support website by opening a live chat session or alternatively through our social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter and they will be able to create a support case for you.

    After you've opened the case if I can also ask you to attach two system reports to the case that will assist us in identifying any potential cause. The reports we need from you are:

    MSInfo
    DxDiag

    Thanks for the information.

    I had tried all of that without success.

    However, I hadn't run it as administrator after the reinstall.

    That works..

    It doesn't scale properly though and I have to run my desktop at 1920 x1080 but I can cope with that.
