Are there any DZ updates on the cards ?

Ok so this isn't about PvE DZ vs PvP DZ ... we all know there are very strong opinions about that already.

As a passionate DZ player since the earliest days of D1, I see the roll out of D2 road maps for the future development, but there appears to be ZERO mention of any updates or changes to the current DZ's. It is no secret that the DZ PvE players (who don't mind a little PvP) like myself and others are the ones who lost out the most in D2. Our beloved D1 DZ was chopped up and it's teeth pulled out to accommodate a safer, lamer, smaller DZ's. Clearing landmarks, teaming up with strangers, running battles with Rogues in D1 was the ULTIMATE online gaming experience. D2 DZ's has destroyed that. The release of WONY has just bought the lameness of D2 DZ's into laser focus.

We now have 3 small, boring, ineffectual DZ's. I am just asking the devs ... are there ANY plans on the horizon for a DZ overhaul ? Is there any hope for the players, like myself, who LOVED the game play of the DZ in D1 to get back the amazing experience it used to be ?

Ideally something like the WONY map as one large DZ would have been amazing (just an example). That map lends itself perfectly to a new DZ ... you could then simply turn over the current DZ's to the normal game play as liberated maps.

    Doubt it.

The major changes that players want done to the DZ, for example:

require a new game on new hardware, and that's based on what they've said about game performance. And with Division 2 being backwards compatible with next gen, but not actually taking advantage of the new hardware, the DZ's fate is sealed.

TU11 was Conflict's last effort to gain any content, because there was just too much time given between when Wharf and Team Elimination was added to the game and, well, next Tuesday. Additionally, Yannick's words when responding to the "pvp content" comments in the twitch chat wednesday were along the lines of "there is no pvp game modes or anything like that coming with TU11, but we hear that." Take that as you will.

Looking forward to grabbing the Backfire, though. I got a cool build ready that works really well with it.

Pretty sure the DZ is finished. PVP will most likely get nothing else from what I understand. After January, I don't think we will see much going on with TD 2 either.

I rather they work on a new expansion that adds more to NY or a totally new city like Las Vegas

Ubisoft abandon PvP in most of its games that’s not PvP focus. The Division 2, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and The Crew 2. Funny how all of these are sequels and there’s nothing new with PvP. Just only added maps every blue moon. Those predecessors got PvP attention but this how Ubisoft is moving forward.

If it’s not a PvP focused game like For Honor, Brawlhalla, RB6 Siege, etc.... there’s not going to be any enhancement. They won’t tell you that and just like to keep you hoping to still play their repetition.

The proof in the pudding. It’s best you move forward to games worth full price. Rogue a Company is a good TPS PvP that get updates every week. You should try it.

My post really isn't about expanding the PvP in the game. As per the OP, I am primarily a DZ PvE player who enjoy's engaging with the PvP players. The post is more about asking if there will ever be an overhaul of the layout or addition to the maps. Something bringing it more inline with what the original DZ was. I think the vast majority of players who enjoyed the DZ would agree the D2 DZ's are just terrible.

Why would it change? They have made all changes to adjust pve side, same as the first game... nerf everythings .. nimble holster, healing station, adept, medkit and so on. Just forget the pvp and the dark zone.. only 8 people left play it anyway. If you want a good experience of the dz... you know what to do.
