Watch Dogs 2 on Epic downloads twice

It's kind of you to give away the game for free, but you should really put a little more effort into QA when launching on a new platform.
Having dual launchers is annoying enough as it is, but in this case the UBISoft launcher insists on redownloading the game even though I already downloaded it through the EPIC launcher.
Also the little link that says 'show details' simply closes the window. It generally feels like a buggy installlation experience.

It seems Epic downloads a folder called 'Watchdogs2' at 37.7 GB and the UBI launcer another one called 'WATCH_DOGS2' at 31.2 GB. Both seems to be necessary, but it is very confusing.

i might have found a fix

Try uninstalling the epic games iteration, then download thru uplay. You should have the game in your uplay library

Be glad you have a copy you can even so much as download lol

I am currently in the situation of being stuck without ability to download as it claims i already have a linked epic games account however the account dashboard says I have nothing linked to my account, can't even download. Felt like they just didn't really want to give it away for free at all and made it a pain so it wouldn't get played for free by that many people *shrugs* we will see if they ever fix the issue but five bucks says they just tell me to make another account, which I wont do. I simply wont play another video game anymore if stupid launchers and stupid passwords and account links i never set up lock me away from gameplay are a requirement. This whole gaming thing has become so cooperate and stupid. They only have a launcher cause they want all the money from title sales from their dev, which I would understand if sales didn't cover production costs and employee salaries, but they do and have, yet they keep wanting more money, causing them to make me have 5 different game stores on my computer..... tbh id rather go deal with life than keep escaping it when these kinds of things have invaded gaming so deep i have to grind for 1000 hours or spend potentially hundreds on loot boxs in many new releases. /rant/ over

    *sighs*

Free was cool, broken was what ever, gaming is dead (for me)
