its very easy obtain raid gear sets , my good dude ,stop cry and whine all time
My clan doing raid run keys every week , and share with clan members all time with raid gear sets and exotics if they drop

You are typical new era of players

Step 1 - Create topics on forum and cry , whine ,nerf everthing - because you don't have time to doo builds i have family and other excuses bla bla bla
Step 2 - Find toons of excuses for not doing any hard activities ,raids/Legendary
Step 3 - blame devs and others because some players have exclusive raid/legendary gear and you don't have it - find other excuses like "i pay for the game like others " or the best one " i am solo player /casual and I deserve it "

Step 4 - When devs will listen your cry and give you this items/exotics on silver plate - you whine again and write"game is soo boring i have all exotics and gear and for now nothing to doo
Step 5 - blame devs again because you want more items and content - game is too easy"

You should be banned on every online game

I get it there is a lot of new players in the game but seriously go find an active clan , grind your *** off for the gear you need (DPS , Tank and Healer builds) , watch some raid videos and jump on the LFG and have a go at the raid to get some experience

If they put the raid exotics in the open world then noone would bother doing the raid .. noob

Who said something about putting the exotics outside the raid?

On a flip side i don't think there is enough exclusive items in the raid, they should be rewarded more for doing the hardest content.

Note: I don't raid, and have never raided in this game, the closest i got to the raid was joining a raid group chat on XB1.....i just listened

I honestly don't know how I feel about this one. Although I know you and I have disagreed about the exotics, I see that is not your topic of your thread here and thank you for holding that one in this time.

As for the gear sets, I am not totally against that as I am the exotics. While I still think it gives a reason to keep the raids relevant, I can see unlocking them as a positive.

If they made this sets for the raid builds that's ok. So do the raid till you have the gear. No difference with exotics. If they are raid material so do the raid. It is to early too free the gear. There are a lot of players doing the raid for the gear. What is the logic of free them now?

I can already hear some of you groaning and rolling your eyes, but it's a valid point: With the raid no longer being the newest content, and additional gear being released, has locking the chests/backs to the raid served its purpose and should now be released?

Note that I don't mention the exotics. I don't think that's a fight I can win, and arguably the exotics DO have value to the raids that the sets don't. While the sets arguably have more value to the game as a whole by being more accesible.

I know this is sort of an old argument to rehash, but I feel the new content and new gear paints things in a new light.

    What do you guys think?
I believe they will eventually. Same thing happened with DH exclusive gear sets.

Sircowdog1 was advocating freeing up the final pieces of the gearsets into the open world. He specifically said that exotics in his opinion should remain.

But....if players have to be coerced or bribed to do the raid, does that not suggest that maybe the raid is not popular among the majority of players?

Well, in my case, chocolate milk, but yeah

Anyway, personally I have no problem with stuff being locked regardless of age. If I want it, I go after it. If it is not something I want to go through to get the item, then I obviously did NOT want the item ... period.

Now, let's take a look at the "bribe to raid" argument. In my honest opinion, anyone who thinks this has never ever played a raid in any game ever. Every MMO or other online game I have ever played that has had Raid content has ALWAYS had item(s) that were exclusive to that raid. One of the big motivating factors to finishing the raid was getting that item drop. No drop? Raid again and get it. Some games guarantee the drop if you finish, and that's fine also.

Now is where someone will ALWAYS try and argue, "But I would do it for the bragging rights!" Uh huh. That's the point of the items that drop. It's not so much about their power or use. It's about the trophy. EB is a trophy. Ravenous is a trophy. In other games, clothing/armor and special weapons are trophies. As you stand in social zones, people could just look at your character and know you did the raid successfully ... or at least you got carried through it. LOL.

FFXIV, Rift, WoW, Everquest (does anyone here even remember Evercrack a.k.a. "foreverquest"?), and Division, among other games, have all had something special able to drop for doing the harder content.

If it bothers someone that they do not have an item, they can just go get it or get over it. That's as simple as that. And, by the way, no game I have ever known has tossed an item to the general masses just because they came out with newer DLC. Division did that somewhat with some of the exotics from WoNY, but that's about it.

It is NOT hard to get a group together and blast through a speed run of either raid in Div 2, or do Legendaries if the Big Horn is what you are after.

EDIT: Wanted to clarify - I know the conversation is aimed at the gear set pieces and not exotics. I am fully aware of that. To me an item is an item is an item and if it is a reward for doing certain content, it should remain that way. otherwise, it isn't even fair to those who did do the content to get that item. That's as bad as those crackheads who gave "exclusive" items to folks who pre-ordered Neverwinter, then a month later made those items available for purchase on the cash shop. A lot of folks would feel the same about raiding for items, then finding out that item was handed out like candy to everyone else.

Let trophies be trophies and either enjoy the game or play something else.

    Bingo!
Gear sets are a suposed way to quickly and easy make a good themed build, having them locked behind content such as the RAID makes no sense to me.
