Anyways, the above image is from the original Ghost Recon (2001). I believe it was called the Command Map, it's been some time since I played it. While you can see all the enemy positions similar to a minimap, that is not what I want to focus on here. One of the things that you are not seeing is that the old command map for both Ghost Recon and even a Rainbow Six game or two allowed the player to give actual path markers and waypoints for teammates to follow.

While those tools were interesting, I'm actually more interested in the having the ability to draw on the map and to be able to mark things like objectives, avenues of approach, sectors of fire, and to have those things that are marked on my map be shared with anyone who is on my team. If AI teammates don't respond, that is fine this is more intended for better player communication and planning.

Also, another zoom in level would be amazing. Thoughts? Opinions? Ideas?
