What they teased I realized isn't everything but you would think after giving all the heroes new armor in the last armor update except year one DLC heroes they would show more than just Aramusha. Hopefully that means they plan on covering all the year one DLC heroes but at this point I feel like they deserves an extra set of armor compared to everyone else been using the same stale armor for Highlander and Gladiator for too long now making it hard to be motivated grinding with them. Please don't do us like that again Ubi... that is all.
I was under the impression what they showed is what we're getting and nothing else. Unless they plan on giving more during the season like mid season update and these were just the season launch armors.
Some people speculate that the reason the Y1 dlc heros are getting shafted on armor is they don't want them to look favored over the original cast. This would potentially explain why the wu-lin and Y3 heros have consistently gotten armor. Maybe to have them play catch up with the base heros. idk how many armor sets each grouping has though. No idea where I could look at that info without having them in game.
I dunno i just feel at this point all the characters from year one should have same amount of armors and they should just double up on Wu Lin and the characters from last year and this year. At the very least when new armor sets come out, which I would argue is one of the biggest content drops for this game at the moment since new match types/events are always temporary, each hero should get SOMETHING. Its especially painful to be only group passed up twice in a row.
The main confusing though is if Im not mistaken they teased new Aramusha armor, right?
Yes they did. Aramusha and Cent are now the only two Y1 dlc heros who've gotten new armor. AFAIK Y1 heros have gotten no brand new armor post marching fire besides those two. And I don't think they've even received variants since then either.
It makes sense that they keep pumping variants and new armor for the base cast. Y3 heros and marching fire heros have also been consistently getting variants. and occasionally some new armor. I can only imagine they're trying to make sure everyone has the same amount of new armor and variants. But I don't know how much of new armor and variants exist for each hero so I can't say.
Well i believe yr1 has more than the heroes that came later but that's just to be expected just like how the base has more than year 1. I've considered the neglect has been for the sake of balancing compared to newer heroes but then it wouldn't follow that they keep giving new armors to base heroes.Originally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
Furthermore that would be just painting themselves into a corner down the road if any more heroes come especially because they would be intentionally creating a system where fan favorite heroes that have been around a while just remain stale and don't get any goodies for months or years at a time. A gaming company who willingly adopts such a seemingly obvious problematic plan might as well admit that loyal and longtime fans'/patrons' ongoing enjoyment and interest isn't very high up on their priority list... well that or that they aren't capable of knowing what is good for them and their customers.
Ok, maybe I can claim a some slight hyperbole or harshness fueled by my growing frustration at Ubisoft's continued and increasing carelessness with this title that I truly do enjoy and want success and a bright future for. I've been around the block enough to realize a developer's primary goal is to be a successful and profitable business and understandably so. And because of that I don't get too bent out of shape when they do things that appear greedy or even appear to take advantage of customers in the name of profit but the older I get I have developed a very strong disdain for developers being short-sighted and tone def... especially when I can't find a motive or make a connection to why these devs are being or appearing this way. And that is my issue here... normally when developers do something distasteful its easy to make the link to profit or some other fairly obvious agenda. But I just cannot understand why they keep handling hero armor releases so poorly and do not have the care or decency to just tell us they simply couldn't fit it in or hell even if its as simple as the yr1 dlc hero armor and aesthetics team all ran off to join a cult or whoever makes the call has strong feelings about angry Scottish men and showboating slaves not having access to fresh clothes, new armors simply because of when they were born.
I've clearly said far too much and I knew that a while ago when I decided screw it I'm now only writing this for those of us who obliged to just keep going for reasons unknown. However, with all I've said, the possible available reasons or motivations for this phenomena, and the activity on these forums and this thread in particular.... and with adopting Occam's Razor... I have concluded that generally, the player base doesn't care either about new armors that much or at the very least don't care if the likes of Highlander, Gladiator, and the other unfavorable receive anything is this update whether they were the only ones shafted in the last similar update or not. This issue seems to be seemingly isolated to me as being one of any importance and that is likely because all of my favorite characters just happen to be the ones that have been deemed unfavorable by the Ubisoft overlord(s). Welp, ill keep playing and ill eventually be like whatever just is what it is... its just part of Ubisoft's nature to give us these special gems of a game and then proceed to make myopic and completely nugatory to Ubi, the customers, or the industry. Perhaps they do it just to not only humble themselves but to humble the insatiable appetites of us gamers and our ilk.
Catch you guys scavenging the battlefield... ill be the one that has nothing new to scavenge but scavenge I must.
Fully agree with everything that you saidOriginally Posted by Xavyn Go to original post
While there may be not as huge of demand for new armor on someone the likes of shinobi I definitely have heard a lot of complaints about armor for shaman, highlander, and to a lesser extent glad. Frankly I feel like the marching fire heros are the least popular bunch of heros in the game and ubi seems to continue to give them armor be they variants or otherwise. If money were linked to the armor situation in anyway I would call it a lack of resources. Then again Y1 dlc heros getting new armor has been a consistent demand since Marching fire dropped. So i doubt they've had resource issues dating to that far back.
Well that reminds me of something I didn't include in my rant. Its extra frustrating when you consider the fact that these heroes are indeed DLC heroes. I realize you could acquire them with a high amount of steel but I am sure there have been enough people to purchase them or the bundle. Whatever the case, there is still some extra measures required to access these heroes so for Ubi to just neglect them on multiple occasions feels like a slap.Originally Posted by Knight_Raime Go to original post
I don't spend money much if ever on this game these days like I used to in the past and that is for multiple reasons but if ANYTHING could open my wallet it would be new armors although that would remove the "fun" of scavenging for them.
My dream situation would be that every hero would have 1 or 2 sets added or even just a few individual pieces that were extremely rare (similar to what they already do with weapons). So you would see an enemy hero on the battlefield and be like man where did he get that helmet? I dunno thats just me.
I wouldn't mind the addition of purchasable armor so long as I could still grind my way to get the set for free in some way.Originally Posted by Xavyn Go to original post
