A decision has not been made until now IF a patch will be released OR IF no future patch will come.Originally posted by Barso1:

I think it's safe to say ubi has moved on to pastures new.
I don't understand why you've no news.
The devs are either working on a patch or they're not. Judging the state of this game it will take a long time to make a patch to fix it.
What annoys me is the fact that the decision to design and manufacture the collectors edition tin took longer that the decision to whether the game was fit for release.
Sorlim I understand you've a job to do here but coming with no news is'nt good news at all.
THIS GAME HAS BEEN OUT 4 MONTHS NOW AND ONLY 1 PATHETIC PATCH THAT DETAILED THINGS FIXED BY THE MOD COMMUNITY IN 1 WEEK!!!!
Tell that to the ubi CEO.
Either way, I will post any new info as soon as I get it.
Forgive me, but i have been a computer games developer for 20 years. I have worked on SEVERAL AAA titles, and for some of the biggest developers here in the UK. So WHO ARE YOU to say that the question is not as basic as it seems to me? I would wager i KNOW alot more about computer games development than you...a community developer. I would send you my CV as proof...but to be honest i have NOTHING to prove to you! Also if you have read my 1.2 feedback thread...you SHOULD have noticed i say that i experience CTD all the time!! Also who are you to say to me that i'm exagerrating? Can you actually see me playing? Or should i say "trying to play". No thought not...your comments are based on assumptions. SO thanks for your patronising comments.Originally posted by sorlim:
Right now, the question you are asking is actually not as basic as it seems to you.
When you say "i still can't play" the game, I think you are exagerating a little bit. I have read your feedback on the 1.2 patch and it doesn't seem like the game is unplayable in your case. You saying that would be like me saying that the game is perfect.
Let's not get carried away.

Now that is just disrespectful to me personally. Without proof of who you are, your whole argument that you have vastly more experience than me, "a community developer", is moot and just rude.
My comments are not based on assumptions. Your 1.2 feedback thread post does not say "all the time". Having game development experience, you should know that CTDs are not easy to diagnose in an end-user setting without a detailed system specs and a crash report as there are so many factors involved.
What and replying to my post and generally patronising me and assuming i don't understand isn't rude?Originally posted by sorlim:

Get over yourself.
No i did not say i get CTD all the time, because at the time of my post...the 1.2 patch had only been out about 2 weeks. It's now 2 months later...so YES i have had more time to realise that it crashes ALOT more thankyou.
Welcome. You're going to earn your salary!Originally posted by sorlim:
Hello, captains! I’m the new Silent Hunter 5 Community Developer.
First of all, I want to reassure you that you have not been shunned to the side and that SH5 has not been abandoned. Ubisoft has not turned its back on the community and me being here is the first example that the SH5 fans have not been forgotten.
Now let’s take it one step at a time...
Since you are now the official Rep for Ubi, you're going to receive a lot of pent-up frustration. Frankly, I wouldn't want your job right now.
Everyone here is going to want to know about (1) the next patch, which is needed (2) when and if there will be an add-on or expansion pack that will give us the Type IX as well as completing the campaign through 1945.
Hi Sorlim
welcome here also from a Member of Aces of the Deep in Germany. I am in this Clan since 2007 and I own Silence Hunter 2,3,4 and 5. What I have seen over the years is quit a lot - just related to the Silent Hunter Series. So, because of that and all the bugs in SH5, still after Patch #3 (Version 1.2) I can really understand, why people are here upset.
My Wish and my Question, are you going to change that in a good manner - to a bug free and all the promised features including game?
Silent Hunter 5 has really a great potential as a submarine simulation with RPG sights.
All new ways are difficult to go, there fore you need to take care much more intense as in your know daily things.
Getting the bugs fixed and the trash from former SH Versions rid of in SH5 - should be a primary goal for a Developer like you, because ... there will be NO Community with a NOT properly working Game.
I wish you well for that and many success in the realization off these things.
How about we give the man more than a few hours to come up with some information. Your posts have been overly aggressive and derisory to what is essentially a new member of the forum.Originally posted by Marv942:
So we wait all this time for you Sorlim, the "community developer" whatever that means...to be appointed. Can you explain what is the point in you if you can't even answer BASIC questions?
Your usage of capitalisation is also somewhat confusing. Do you mean that you are shouting the word basic, or you are referring to the language BASIC, capitalised as it an acronym?
As you are more than likely to ask, WHO AM I to say such things, then the answer is that I'm just an impartial observer of the proceedings here (WHATEVER THAT MEANS) and I have had the impartial view that your posts have been very aggressive, very dismissive and frankly, other than helping you vent your anger, will do no one any good. Popping all of the blood vessels in your eyes won't make a patch appear, but may give you a "wild-eyed look" that some of the kids crave.
Let's all have a bit of decorum and respect for a new member, before lynching the man. Er, I mean, you know, if necessary.
Welcome aboard Sorlim!
