Hello, captains! I’m the new Silent Hunter 5 Community Developer.

First of all, I want to reassure you that you have not been shunned to the side and that SH5 has not been abandoned. Ubisoft has not turned its back on the community and me being here is the first example that the SH5 fans have not been forgotten.

Now let’s take it one step at a time...

May i suggest that we have a Question and Answers thread so that we can get some insight into what Ubi is really doing to make this game the product it should be.

I will answer as many questions as I can in this thread.

First off welcome!

Secondly, I'm sure you're aware that there's basically no way you're going make us happy unless your next post reads: "Patch 1.3 will include these fixes by the original game devs {insert minefield fixes and other things here} and DRM is being removed", so you'll forgive me if I don't find this fluffy intro post very convincing yet. That said, it's a tentative toe tip in the right direction, so thanks for
that.

Honestly though, Q&A and intro posts are too little too late. We need the game problems fixed and fixed properly this time and we need to know when that's going to happen. Ubisoft finally has a mouth to speak with, so hopefully you'll say the right things about the concerns we have.

Questions? Here's a few:

A) What been keeping you busy since June 25th?
B) Answer this please.
C) What happened to GKane and why did it take around 3 months to replace him?
D) Where are the patch notes for 1.3?
E) Why don't you have the patch notes for 1.3? (I'm just assuming here...)

You're walking into 4 months of customers being ignored and abandoned so I hope you're wearing your bilge boots and understand where the few of us left are coming from.

I suppose the most obvious question that most of us would like to know is if the bugs and errors that most of us are experiencing in the game (as listed in detail on other threads) are going to be fixed with an official patch?

A) The regular things you'd do when starting a new job: find a hot secretary and take a vacation.
B) Ubisoft has not officially dropped support for Silent Hunter 5.
C) Hitman from EA, maybe?
D) No future patch has been announced yet.
E) 'cause I can't see into the future? (and that's a fact, believe me, I've tried...)

Thank you for posting the issues you are experiencing with the game!
And thanks also to the people here trying to reproduce them and confirm their existence!

My first piece of advice would be to keep your head down and tighten that bullet (torpedo) proof vest, as you are going to need it!

Second thank you for FINALLY giving us a response it has been DESPERATELY NEEDED.

Finally a simple question. IS THERE A NEW PATCH COMING?
